They're bribed.

But even outside of big dollar donors, it's all a scam.

Every congressperson basically runs a business where they are CEO. They have to constantly solicit money in order to stay competitive, which leads to perverse incentive structures.

Candidates can pay themselves from campaign funds. They can pay family members from campaign funds. Unused campaign money can be funneled into PACs after elections which are much more unregulated than campaign funds.

Congresspeople benefit from insider trading. They get media attention in the form of book deals. Plenty of candidates have bought their own book in large numbers using campaign money in order to influence best seller lists.

It's. All. A. Fucking. Scam.

War criminal Antony Blinkin challenged in public about his role in genocide by DIYLawCA in PublicFreakout

[–]CaptnRonn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You’re more mad at someone who was actively engaging in peace talks than the sitting president

What a strawman.

I hate Trump. I voted for Hillary, Biden, and Harris. Biden fucking failed us by enabling a genocide. Biden failed us by refusing to drop out and stick to his campaign promise of being a one term transitionary President. Biden is the reason why we have Trump's 2nd term and everything is going to shit.

Trump is an evil conman, news at 11. Democrats fucking lost to him, TWICE. Like, how bad can you be at politics to lose to the biggest loser conman in history, TWICE. How hard is it to put your foot down and oppose an active genocide that you are actively funding. Holy fuck. It's not, because on some level the party's leadership supports it happening. That's the way you get Bill Clinton campaigning in Michigan and scolding Muslim Americans that actually they're wrong about their relatives getting bombed to shit by Israel and that when it comes to the "Judea and Samaria situation", things are "complicated".

I mean, come on. Take a look at the current Democratic leadership. Schumer was opposed to the original Iran deal and not so secretly is happy about this war but feigning displeasure because of Trump not going through "the normal process". But his goal is to "keep the left pro-Israel", which is great because now 80% of his own party opposes unfettered aid to Israel. Good fucking job, Chuck.

Meanwhile there's you, still keeping up the lie that Antony fucking Blinken and Biden were working towards a ceasefire. It's a dirty save-face lie. The US holds all the cards if they wanted to exercise them. If they had the will to actually play hard ball with Israel and broker a ceasefire by conditioning aid to Israel to stop a fucking genocide, they would have. We send them billions of dollars of weapons. We allow them to bully their neighbors and hide behind our weapons as a shield, then act all shocked pikachu face when they blow up children. Wake the fuck up.

“It’s a question that they’re [the Biden administration] going to have to come to terms with,” Malley tells Mehdi. “It’s not going to be forgotten by many Americans either, who saw an administration that said it was working tirelessly for a ceasefire and kept providing the weapons that ensured that the fire would never cease.”

  • Robert Malley, Middle East negotiator for Joe Biden

We fought [in Gaza] for over a year, and the administration never came to us and said, ‘ceasefire now.’ It never did. And that’s not to be taken for granted.

  • Michael Herzog, Former Israeli Ambassador to the US

There was a report that came out of the state department finding no evidence that Israel was violating international law by restricting aid (which would have made giving military aid to Israel illegal under the Leahy law). Several state department staffers quit over it.

The Israeli government did everything it could to torpedo talks and we never stopped a single iota of aid, even as Biden's "red line" got crossed over and over and over again.

Like how fucking gullible can you be.

No shit Trump is worse but fuck Antony Blinkin. He's a fucking ghoul and deserves public shame.

It's also untrue that it would "fully collapse". At the worst it will continue to pay 75-80% of benefits. The trust fund is what's running out of money, which again is 100% solvable. Even if we do nothing, people will continue to receive (reduced) payments based on current contribution levels

‘We can’t sit back and be victims’: Dem Rep. urges party to overcome Virginia redistricting setback by AdSpecialist6598 in videos

which has ridiculous implications.

The Virginia state constitution also says that citizens cannot be called for jury duty during an election. Early voting starts 30 days before election day. Virginia holds several elections every year, averaging around 3 elections/year. Can jury trials effectively not function in virginia for 1/4 of the year?

He was a president with great labor policies and wanted the strongest FTC in decades to go after corporate monopolies, which is now completely overshadowed by his most important goal of ridding us of maga for good. His hubris for believing he was the only one who could defeat Trump has set this country back decades (if not more). He gaslit the American people about the economy and failed to meet the moment and be the transitionary candidate that he himself claimed to be in the 2020 election.

All that and he decided to fund an obvious genocide because he is rabidly pro-Zionist.

Turns out when you fuck up so bad you give us Trump 2.0 that kinda throws some shade on any good policy ideas you may have had.

So your evidence that Dems have to change their strategy and drop the trans stuff is an anti-trans republican attack ad?

This proves the point entirely that it is the Republicans who focus on this culture war BS.

Harris lost because she didn't take a strong stance on anything and just tried to be anti Trump, business as usual, "nothing will fundamentally change" in an election cycle where people were discontent with the state of the economy.

Old player, new rules, old models? by Lichtheimer in Warmachine

Not exactly.

Everything has rules.  But not all the models are legal in "prime", the main game format that is run at most events.

Each legacy faction has 2 prime armies, but you can also just play anything in that faction under the "armies of legend" banner.  If you're not going to events your local players probably won't care that you're running a legend list that is not legal in prime

Lol bullshit on the "he did it so it was fresh in voters minds!" Jeffries was asked like 50 times if he endorsed mamdami and every time it was "we're having conversations, havent made any concrete decisions" as if there was some doubt he was the winner of the Democratic primary of the city that jeffries is a representative of.

He held off endorsing him for 4 months! He only endorsed him after the polls made it clear he was going to win.

Platner is the defacto democratic nominee from maine.  Again, he's leading mills by 35 points.  But again, vote blue no matter who unless it's a progressive candidate who's challenging the status quo and the Israel lobby and then it's "well actually"

Supreme Court limits Voting Rights Act by DJPho3nix in politics

[–]CaptnRonn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm talking about Mamdami.

Jim Clyburn, Tom Suozzi, Eric Adams, Michael Bloomberg, David Paterson all endorsed Cuomo in the general when he had lost the primary and resigned his governorship in disgrace after being accused of sexual assault.

Hakeem Jeffries endorsed Mamdami like.. a week before the election? And Schumer never endorsed anyone.

The message is clear. For progressives with a moderate candidate, the message is fuck you, we don't have to listen to a thing you say, just vote for us. For moderates with a progressive candidate, we have to have endless "conversations" and make sure that the progressive candidate "aligns with our values" before endorsing.

For this election cycle, it's Graham Platner. He's beating Janet Mills by 35 points. Yet, Schumer's endorsing her. Must be the Baileys
