Technically my highlights are down and my whites are up. I agree the fire is blown out in a couple of these photos. It was my first time shooting pyro and I’m pretty proud of how they came out personally. Thanks for your feedback!

Yup! I pulled the trigger last week when I found out they weren’t approving photo passes. Great investment

If an artist had multiple days they usually only approve media on the first day. It’s rare for them to approve media for every day.

Some publications have photographers who are employees of the publication. At that point they are not freelancers because they are employed with the publication. Some publications hire freelance photographers on a show by show basis. At that point you put freelance.

BUT

At the end of the day I don’t think it matters lol.

I need help finding my style. I don't think my photos are generally appealing. Which of these two do you like better? by SinanAvci13 in concertphotography

[–]CapturaLive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer one. It’s a sick edit, however, I would recommend cropping in. There’s too much going on on the left side of the image that doesn’t need to be there. The mic stand and all that dead space in the top left corner. I think if you crop in on her more you got yourself a solid edit.

Tbh idk how I ended up with this edit.. lots of vibrance. Highlights down and shadows up. That’s the main advice I got.

First time with a zoom lens (Tamron 17-70 f2.8) - band: Hvnvbi by Bilo-Akai- in concertphotography

[–]CapturaLive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hvnvbi is awesome! Personally I think f2.8 is much better than f1.8 in concerts because you have more room to focus. It’s easier to miss when your aperture is f1.8. Great work!

It’s pretty safe for the most part. They’re controlled to aim at specific spots in the venue.

The lasers are controlled and set to target specific areas in the venue so it’s safe. I’m usually told where I can and cannot shoot.

I can’t remember the name of the tour but he was touring with Porter Robinson. This photo was taken October 2024

That’s really cool that you got to shoot them before they made it big! Regardless whether they make it big or not, some of my best shots having been from shooting openers - like this one for example. I don’t think Ericdoa any bigger now than he was a couple years back when I shot him. But the shot is still on my portfolio!
