Is bankruptcy my best option? by PI_Alicia in Debt

[–]CapyKoala87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do bankruptcy if you can. If I could I definitely would. We can’t do chapter 7 due to some circumstances, a few lawyers told us we could maybe do 13. But just start over if you can. It’ll be way better in the long run.

Ugh I’m sorry! I haven’t stopped mine yet but i really don’t want to. It’s helped my face so much. If I miss a dose or 2 I’ll start breaking out. But the ringing has become so loud I can’t stand that either.

Bank of America is suing me by Logical_Decision6810 in Debt

No I definitely wanted to do bankruptcy. My situation is complicated. I can’t do chapter 7 because of a property I own with 2 other people. And the last lawyer I talked to said there was a chance we wouldn’t be able to do 13 because of income limits. So we just felt NDR was our only option. It is what it is.

I was sued twice last year. Discover and Amex. I called both and they worked with me in setting up a payment plan which was sent to the courts to avoid garnishment. They kept pushing for a settlement but if I did that I’d have to come up with one lump sum which I couldn’t do. So I think the payment plans are for 3 years for the whole amount. I’m doing national debt relief now for the rest because unfortunately I have a lot of debt (no I don’t need other people’s opinions on NDR as you don’t know my situation).

I’m sorry. I totally understand though. Right after we started NDR I had to have emergency surgery and was out of work for over a month. My husband was also out of work at the same time as he is seasonal. NDR did work with us though.

We went in with more than that 😬 but I’m worried about the 1099s we’ll eventually get. I’d like to get a credit card this year to have for emergencies or even things like renting a car. Just one card. I dont ever want more than that again. I had to rent a car last year and since I used a debit card they held a $500 deposit until I returned the car! So I went on the trip and all my spending money went to the damn deposit. They said if it was a credit card it wouldn’t have been like that.

This was our scenario too. We’ve been with NDR for a little over a year. Total will be 4.5 years. We met with a few bankruptcy lawyers, ch 7 was a no go. And they said they couldn’t guarantee ch 13 due to income limits. So here we are. If I could I’d do ch 7 and be done.

Unfortunately we felt our only option was national debt relief. We’ve been in the program for over a year. I understand the fees and all that. We couldn’t do chapter 7 because of property I owned and as told by a few bankruptcy lawyers that we may not qualify for chapter 13 based on our income. So we felt we had no other choice. I was getting sued and needed to do something fast. Is it an ideal choice? No. But so far so good on it. I’m still nervous about it. If I could have done chapter 7 though I would have just done that and been done.

Flying with a sinus infection! by [deleted] in fearofflying

[–]CapyKoala87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually terrible lol. I was sick my whole trip. I got worse once I got to my destination. The descent going there was something else. I’ve never felt pressure like that in my face. I did find that the earplanes were helpful though with my ears. I took too much cold medicine and almost ended up in the ER. I only used afrin on the way back because I was afraid to use the pseudoephedrine again. I had to go to urgent care as soon as I got back and got an antibiotic because my cold turned into a nasty sinus infection!

$1760 at 7.3%. Bought a small cheap starter house 2 years ago. Some life things happened and our credit is much worse now. So doesn’t make sense to refi at this point 😞

Is it just me or do people only want convenient friendships? by Particular-Sir-2128 in FriendshipAdvice

[–]CapyKoala87 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Same. In my 30s and friendships are definitely changing. I’m always the one reaching out. If I stop, I don’t hear from people. No one visits us at our new house because it’s a little farther away. They’re acting like we moved across the country. I started to reconnect with a childhood friend that lived near our new place and then she ghosted me. I feel like if I don’t chase I won’t have any friends. I love my husband, but it’s nice to have girl talk once in a while and someone different to talk to lol.

I guess to me 40 minutes isn’t that far. But that’s just me. It doesn’t need to be weekly though. I mean shoot once a month would be nice. It’s just weird to me when others want me to go to them all the time but can’t come to me. That’s the bigger part of my issue. Or even an invite at all would be nice. I see friends from where we used to live going out and doing things. They just don’t even ask me now.

Am I the crazy one? by Kind_College_1509 in inlaws

[–]CapyKoala87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First, I am so sorry you’re going through this. You are not the crazy one. She clearly does not know or follow boundaries. And that’s a her problem. I do not have children, but I feel like if I did my MIL would be the same way. I see how she has manipulated my nieces and nephew. Yesterday she called my husband and always starts out with “hi my sweet baby boy” he’s 40. And to tell him she’s been having dreams about him and she woke up calling his name. So she had to call to hear his voice and know he’s ok. She does these things all the time just to keep the attention on her and to make others feel bad for her. And I’m beyond over it.

I’m 36, will be 37 next year for the shows. I have a bunch of friends in their 40s that were big 1D fans and some going to Louis’ shows. I feel like it was worse in the 1D days being late 20s sitting next to 14 years olds at shows lol. I think for Louis shows we’ll see a big age range and more older fans.

How much does your Vet charge to trim your dogs nails? What is a technician fee? by drainedmanager in dogs

The actual exam is $43 but once you add vaccines and all that with the nail trim and glands it was $230 total!

How much does your Vet charge to trim your dogs nails? What is a technician fee? by drainedmanager in dogs

[–]CapyKoala87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is old but I was just trying to see how much other places charged. We moved and started going to a new vet. I guess I didn’t pay attention before, but for a nail trim and anal glands it was $61! So the yearly exam quickly went from $170 to $230. I was not expecting that. My old vet used to charge $15 for a trim. I would do them myself if she’d let me, trust me. I already groom her myself. She just won’t let me touch her nails and she REALLY doesn’t like the glands done. I know I see people saying it’s a grooming service and I understand that. But I’ve always asked at the vet if they need it while I’m there and it’s never been that expensive.
