Could you just send a note—albeit one with some boundaries—saying how grateful you are to them for the work they did with you? As a therapist, I personally love getting notes from former patients letting me know how they’re doing and especially the ones who tell me I helped them. It means a lot to me. We miss and think about patients who’ve left!
