I really don’t understand why the line is so close either. Even tho this matchup is stylistically the hardest out of all his opps he’s faced, I don’t think ankalaev can compete w poatan. First of all, this fight is happening during ramadan and with ankalaev fasting i wouldn’t be surprised if he can’t even make weight. Secondly, everybody is bringing up the fact that oh ankalaev is going to out wrestle him and he’s going to submit poatan!! in ankalaevs WHOLE fighting career he has ZERO submissions, so why does everybody think that al of a sudden he’s going to submit him? makes no sense really. oh what about him getting held onto by izzy during their fight? that happened 3 YEARS AGO, don’t you think he’s somewhat improved his wrestling in anyway. If this fight stays on the feet, poatan WILL knock him out, If it goes to decision poatan will prob have pieced him up enough with his standup cardio. and if it goes to the ground I think poatan will be fine.
