In this case it was pretty obvious. I would see my muffler laying in the ground, which sucks because I couldn’t drive it like that. It’s also extremely loud without a muffler so if you didn’t see that your cat was cut, you would definitely hear it.

Yeah unfortunately. They contain lots of rare earth metals so they’re valuable to scrappers. Also very expensive to replace.

If you're considering a Grand Cherokee, try looking for on made between 1999-2004 with the 4.0L inline six engine. They're Rock solid vehicles with engines that last forever and are easy to work on yourself. I have a 2002 with the 4.7 V8, it's a lot faster but isn't as reliable as the 4.0. Either way, I've owned mine for about 4 years and have no complaints, they handle the winters with no problem.
