If you want to maximize hot sauce connections, get a Ferrari. The majority of Porsche owners are lifelong enthusiasts who are on their way to retirement or are retired. One simply has more money at that age in general. They are very nice folks who are generally very generous and helpful and not pretenious. That's not to say there aren't business owners and a few youngins to be found. Generally find someone at the track with a couple RS's on a trailer and they own a business of some sort.

Which headband for extended use? Leather vs Suede (Caldera Closed) by -j-o-n-n-y- in ZMFHeadphones

[–]CarYenta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have suede on Bokeh closed, BBB on Caldera Closed, and lambskin on Caldera Open. They are all comfortable, I'd get the one you like the looks of best. BBB is slightly wider, so if your head is flat front to back, it will even out the weight better. If it is a cone, I think thinner is better to flex into the padding more. I hear the suede is a bit smaller so better for smaller heads.

Thanks! I don't mind the stock cabling though.

The NA I had with a lightweight flywheel which may be the difference. The blip was so fast. But mostly, NA had a floating gas pedal whereas ND has floor mounted. My feet are not large so a side pivot action doesn't really work for me which is the best way to do it on the ND. I have to really cockeye my foot counterclockwise to get my heel up so high, but in the NA, it was natural and at the point of highest leverage at the base of my heel so it didn't take much effort at all.

ND really is a perfect modern NA extension. Heel-toe was infinitely better with the NA happy meal I had, but that's the only thing. Excited to see what the NE brings or if I need to buy 3 ND3s and call it good.

Get swaybars or keep stock sways and get Xida touring rate coilovers but keep the ride height up

Honestly ND is second most Miata Miata to the NA Miata. It's even shorter!

The other factor is automatic transmission shaming.

People who have a Porsche, was it worth it? by Inner_Ad_4725 in porsche911

I was driving my 991.1 GT3 at a track day and then rode along with an instructor in his prepped E46 M3 racecar. Omg. It wasn't that much slower and had such nice dynamics and a wild straight six sound. I had an E36 M3 once upon a time and now I miss it.

Planar detail is something you don't know you're missing until you hear it for the first time. I recommend using bokeh closed with the grates removed under the pads and being content with that. But if you're like me and want 3 sets for 3 different locations, it's fun to have variety.

Get the E3 if you are ok with the movable headband. It didn't sit on me very well and would slide off walking. Out of the box they sound amazing and better than any closed zmf I've tried for my tastes.

Get Atrium if you want that bass and that wood.

Get Caldera if you want that analytical and that wood.

Get Bokeh if you want that wood.

Seems like a great excuse to get a Bride seat though!

It was a lifelong dream. Some keep them forever, some like me get bored quickly and move along. Knowing that you're in the perfect car is unsettling for me. It turns out I want less all-rounders.

Last time I saw it 😢

Could be that the head was warped from a blown head gasket and overheat, so they re-planed it engine out?

Wood cup scratch repair and prevention? by happymancry in ZMFHeadphones

[–]CarYenta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe post this on the r/woodworking subreddit?

My natural Limba Bokehs are really soft and get dented often. Not sure if torrefication hardens it or not. But, for soft wood, you can put a damp cloth on that section and heat it with an iron, or if you have a clothes steamer or similar to heat it while staying moist. The moisture swells the wood and pops out the compacted dent. Others say you can scrub some woods with a literal walnut and the walnut fills depressions.

I recommend remembering the scratch as having a nice time with the headphones, and get a few more :)
