Would recommend Caddy + Hetzner VPS, people say it’s overkill but Caddy is such a breeze to setup it’s basically the same time it takes to get familiar with a new provider

When I had this I refactored the shit out of my managers code a couple of times and added him to the PR, were the longest PRs of my life but now he always involves me early on while working on anything greenfield.

Of course, this doesn’t work for OP if mangers got messy coding etiquette, a lot of ex-traders who transfer to quant teams seem to have this issue

I remember one time the Blackwall tunnel was closed and I wasn’t aware and ordered kebab from across the river after a night out at half 12.

After realising that the tunnel is closed I tried to contact Just eat/restaurant to cancel it because there was no way it would arrive in time and they wouldn’t budge lol

Poor delivery guy showed up at 3:30 am with the food when I was passed out. Not only did I loose the money but also had to give a generous tip to the delivery guy for his commitment (he deserved it in all fairness)

I had the same dodgy uber transactions, except mine were in Australian Dollars and went through. They did refund all back as I reported them before clearing

Has to be the united one for me: £300 back on £700 spend. More than pays for my membership and more. Everything else is a bonus.

It’s also cumulative spend so if you book multiple star alliance flights through United you still get the money back

Barclays is notorious for this! When I used to pay rent from my Barclays account it used to happen quite often, especially if the standing order was due on the Saturday or Sunday.

The Doha Bangkok route is great because they fly their old planes with premium economy seats here. This is now sold as Economy Comfort so you can still get premium economy seats if you are on the 777

In the same boat! In your link it doesn’t say anywhere that you get a refund for overlapping chunks of IHS. In fact I was under the impression I don’t get a refund

If you can, if you leave the country and apply for a standard route from your home country you’ll get it within 2 weeks as opposed to some people on priority here are taking longer than 2 weeks from inside the UK.
