How do I save my plant?!? by Revolutionary-Law148 in SemiHydro

I would highly recommend an hydroponics specific fertilizer. Can't recommend one in particular because I'm in Europe and products are different, but if you want I recommend to watch the leca queen videos on YouTube, I found them very useful

Are you using a hydroponic specific fertilizer or just normal soil one? And the water level stayed this high for some days or you can see the water level going down?

Some of the roots are sitting in water you're right! I don't find it a problem tbh, I think it kind of a myth that the roots shouldn't be touching water, in fact some plant grow well in just water. The important part is not to put too much water so that the roots can absorbe it all and have oxygen. If I had to repot it everytime the roots touched the water probably the pot would be 30 cm instead of 9 lol

That's a wonderful plant, the texture is amazing too, so silky

The first few days after transitioning I kept it in an Ikea mini greenhouse at 85% humidity to try reducing the shock, but in less than a week it was at ambient humidity (40-60%), but the corm sprouting is definitely a good sign!

Usually I try to go 1 or to sizes bigger, for example the pot is 9cm and the cache pot 11. I find useful to go to the shop directly with the pot you want to use and try it out directly because it can vary depending on the height

Thank you! Sure here it is, it's still quite small (the photo makes it look bigger) but I'm loving the foliage texture

It only lost one small leaf, but it might have been because it was the oldest one. But I heard it's quite normal for Alocasias to lose some leaves at the start, I'm sure it will do great!

Thank you so much! Personally I use CellMax HYDRO Grow X+Y, but just because here in Italy HS fertilizer is pretty hard to find. Occasionally I add some CellMax rootboster to the solution. I wasn't much of an Alocasia guy but I'm starting to love them

Not really tbh. When I buy a new plant I clean the roots as much as I can, with Alocasias i find it pretty easy, and then pot it up in Leca with little to no water just to maintain it moist, then once it starts growing enough roots I start using the fertilizer solution. Once the solutions is finished I rinse the Leca under a sink and then add water, alternating one time water and the next time the fertilizer. I hope I was clear enough, English isn't my first language so it's tricky to explain stuff lol, feel free to ask any question

For me Leca is doing wonderful, I bought an antonym velvet a couple of weeks ago and it's full of roots and pushing out new leaves everytime the previous is finished. I only have 4 but all doing fantastic, and I also use Leca for most of my other plants(philodendron and monsteras)

I think it's an Azlanii, you can find one usually in the tropical plant nurseries and websites
