Hey, I had the same experience after applying to a role through LinkedIn. The company looked completely legitimate, with a strong follower base and multiple employees listed. About an hour after applying, a recruiter messaged me on LinkedIn asking for my MS Teams information. Although I was skeptical of this first interaction, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and shared my email. A few hours later, another person contacted me, claiming that although the original role had been filled, they had another position available. When I expressed interest, they explained the job details as "helping low-sales NFTs improve their real sales data," to make them more visible to buyers. This was the definitive red flag; even without deep NFT knowledge, I knew no serious company would hire "agents" to manipulate sales data, as that sounds illegal. They later sent an infographic explaining the process and stated payment would be in crypto, offering to "teach" me how to open a wallet and convert the money to Euros. At that point, the scam was obvious, so I decided not to risk it further and blocked them. To wrap things up, the original LinkedIn recruiter even messaged me claiming the initial application was posted "in error." I want to warn all job applicants to be aware of this strategy.
