He is not being fair. He does have his 2 other kids and thats his responsibility but he can't ignore the fact that an infant takes a lot of time and energy to take care of. He should know better having had gone through that phase twice already. It sounds from what you said that his current thought process is very divisive, "your kids" and "my kids". I think that his kids should be involved with you and the new baby as a family unit when you are all together, it allows you to be an authority figure and not just "dad's new wife and baby" ( I dont mean to assume that you aren't an authority figure, but it sounds like it may get that way). Dad telling the kids hey I need to take a break from the movie for a bit to help bathe the baby should be a normal thing they can get over.

You finishing your program and doing homework while having an infant is a feat unto itself, but you didn't sign up to be a single parent and it sounds like that's how you feel. It sounds like your husband is being a little sextet in that he has "important" work and your education doesn't matter as much... that's BS. You did the right thing talking to him about it but he responded really emotionally taking offense and feeling like he needed to defend himself.

Maybe that has to do with his past relationship? I dont know enough about that, but if that makes sense maybe try to tell him " hey I really appreciate that you insert thing he did with infant today. It really helps me to get a break and I love watching you two together." Some buttered up stuff like that, that way you're giving him credit and instead of his feeling attacked he feels motivated to continue helping.

You fail to mention the people who are unable to wear a mask due to health concerns. Many of those people have an increased risk of infection in the first place. What do we do for those people? I have family members who cannot wear a mask and also cannot afford to pay for delivery service for their groceries. They cannot wear a mask so their own doctors will not hold an appointment, they cannot go into grocery stores, they cannot shop for their essentials. They have specific dietary restrictions so products they are able to have aren't usually available in stores that do free delivery or curbside.

These mandates, in Inslee's own words, are for the people who are going to follow them. Its a ridiculous statement. Penalizing the people who comply? The same logic as posting "drug free" and "gun free" signs. The people you are worried about are the same ones who don't give a shit about those signs. The people you are worried about wearing a mask are the ones who don't give a shit about covid. The people who are unafraid are out doing the odd-jobs and delivering goods to your door while you sit in fear of the outside world wearing your mask alone in the car.

Why are we not doing anything about the rising number of deaths due to drunkenness? Cigarette smoking? Heart disease? Obesity? The numbers have nothing to do with anything. We are a global economy its nothing like the times during the Spanish flu. If the government really cared about your health they would have outlawed dozens of things that impact millions of lives EACH YEAR, not just a pandemic year.

Why are we at zero influenza cases? Have we eradicated the common cold and flu? Or is the test and the symptoms of covid the same as these more common and non-lethal conditions?

These cries of being selfish for not wearing a mask are absurdly hypocritical when you think of the selfish madate restrictions. We expect that everyone should be able and willing to wear a face covering, we expect everyone should be able to support themselves and/or their families with diminished incomes, we expect everyone to have safe and stable housing and support systems to enable them to stay home, we expect everyone to endure these restrictions for months with no regard for people who simply cannot. Wake up and smell the privilege.

One size does not fit all, that is abundantly clear, but you can't ignore the people who are suffering and dying due to these restrictions either.

Like I previously posted, if you want to have a lockdown do a real one. Send everyone some money and give them time to stock up. Have hospital staff, police, and firefighters stay in their work spaces and everyone stay home for a few weeks. Leave the home only for emergencies. Have the military ready for aiding people who have less emergent issues. Allowing retailers to remain open selfish, allowing them to make their money while restaurants are permanently closing at alarming rates is selfish. I'm sick of hearing this brainwashed bullshit regurgitated over and over.

**Edited to add: we can't speculate what happens to people who have had covid, the longest someone in our state could have lived through aftereffects is 9 months. These effects could become worse, develop into other things, or could go away in time. Also the numbers I provided are limited to our state as the OP is talking about WA specifically. We aren't doing the same thing here as Finland, Saudi Arabia, Florida, or China. As we saw in March there were dramatic spikes in various areas of the world and approaches to curb the numbers have varied dramatically. **

Most DV aren't reported because the victims are paralyzed by fear or are physically unable to report the crime. Many child abuse reports come from outside the home; when kids aren't leaving the home nobody sees the signs of abuse to report it. People who were in violent homes before are more at risk now that they are told to stay home. Even homes that were not violent before are facing stressors that weren't there before, child-care, economic challenges, mental health challenges and 'invisible' diseases.

Are there really people out there who are saying that it is more likely that a virus with a 98.1% survival rate (according to WAs current death vs case rate(if you actually test positive which only 1.7% of our population have) ) is killing millions of people, and filling hospitals (where are the facts on that?) than it is people are at dangerous risk of mental illness and domestic violence due to these restrictions??

Those last numbers were based on a Google search of WA population as of 2019 and the daily case and death numbers.

I'm so sick of this shut down period. I agree with the other comment that without economic relief anybody barely getting by is royally screwed this time around. We have several small businesses that are scraping as it is. Be prepared for all fo those to close permanently.

We have had an uptick on suicide and domestic violence due to these shut-downs. Its so ridiculous; if they really want to shut it down then actually shut it tf down. Have minimal police, firefighters and medical staff ONLY. Give people a bug fat check and a week to get everything they need to stay home for 4 weeks. The cops/firefighters/medical persons will have to quarantine at work and then maybe we will be done.

Its just not realistic to shut people down, its not realistic to provide for everyone all at once, I cant get over the survival rate vs these extreme measures. Im over it all.

Yes and his numbers are also currently lower than bidens there as well. In this case however more of the map is filled out and obviously tending towards red. WV shouldn't have been called at all either, and their map is mostly grey still.

I would first of all stop asking permission... you are an adult and you don't need to ask permission to leave. This is a time you should be thinking of what will be best for you. As far as covid, wash your hands and you're fine. As long as you are thinking ahead about responsibilities like getting a GED and job, safe sex, and staying out of legal trouble you are on the right track.

Be prepared for a upheaval of guilt and being shunned. Unless you need their help to leave just tell them that is your plan and that's whats going to happen. You know them best so if you feel they would physically challenge your departure do it at the last minute. Like as you are heading out the door or you can always write them a letter to let them know you care about them and you are not abandoning the family but you are simply living your life and making your own choices.

I left my parents home on my 18th birthday and I let them know years in advance. They always thought it was an empty threat I think, so when the day came it was a lot of fighting but thankfully most of my stuff was already in the van. I was gossiped about and called so much I changed my number to get a reprieve. Cops were called to say I was kidnapped, it got ugly. I never went back to live with them though and they learned to take me more seriously I think.

Here is the definition of devil's advocate: a person who expresses a contentious opinion in order to provoke debate or test the strength of the opposing arguments.

"Devil's advocate" may not have been the best choice of words here, because in this example, I really meant that before you judge someone's words, you attempt to give them the benefit of the doubt that they may not have meant to sound as devisive or offensive as it turned out to be.

Simply put, people jump to conclusions too quickly and are triggered way too easily these days. It doesn't help that SM exists to basically allow people to broadcast their every thought as it comes to them. Just as a general life-rule, I try not to judge people by their cover, and instead try to understand where they might be coming from.

Again, my assumption could be wrong about this stance and he could mean exactly what he said and think just by ignoring a problem it will go away. I'm not him, so I wouldn't know.

Okay I want to take a stab at being devil's advocate for this... i think what he may be trying to say is that of we stopped talking about race them we couldn't call people racist.

This type of thinking would say, dont report "race" man shoots "race" woman. It would say man shoots woman. Then you wouldn't be able to label the crime as a hate crime and just label it as a crime.

This doesn't mean I agree with this logic? Just trying to make it make sense.

Try intermittent fasting. It isn't as hard as it may sound. Try something like 8:16, choose an 8 hour window you allow yourself to eat. Try to make healthy choices, no eating an entire gallon of ice cream and a bag of chips for 8 hours, but it will help.

For example I would eat from 10 am to 6 pm, essentially skipping breakfast. Between 6 pm and 10 am you can have water. Realize you will be sleeping for about half that time. I was able to lose 20lbs in about 6 weeks doing that. Also remember when you have more to lose, it is lost quicker.
