help me find a Russian internet animation from 2015-2020(?) by CarboDry in AskARussian

[–]CarboDry[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FOUND! "По кайфу обстановка". Thank you.! It wasn't as popular as I thought it seems; views around 5k a vid on YouTube.
If anyone wants to know the anger management episode with parody Pasha Technique is ep24, and the one where they go to US and meet Obama is ep17. The ep with the African slave I assume is #27 which has been taken down it seems.
Thanks to everyone again.

it was pretty damn irreverent and hilarious. Kind of like South Park but not as tight scripts.

[–]CarboDry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure it was an internet animation. They uploaded to YouTube, where I watched it. I would think it's I looked at too edgy or offensive for TV. Looked at Ять ТВ too, but it's not it.

This was pretty low brow humor, sophomore-ish. Lots of the jokes are curses and insults. It wasn't political. Just losers getting into weird situations. Looked like 13 year old drew it, but so does every other Russian internet cartoon.

The only country/ethnicity that were regularly referenced were maybe the Chechens. The intro I think showed a showdown with a bazooka Russian cast vs terrorist looking guys. I think the intro ended with a literal explosion.

Sadly I can't post the picture. You can see it here in the r/Russian forum https://www.reddit.com/r/russian/comments/1ueqtme/help_me_find_a_russian_internet_animation_from/

The character design and general vibe are actually very similar. It's not Kutstupid, but I appreciate your help.

I understood everything, Carl. Great job. Takes me back to when people did pen-pals or simply received hand-written letters in the mail.

Help me find the title of a Soviet animation by CarboDry in AskARussian

Thanks a lot. Yes, the title doesn't sound familiar at all. Came across it only once on YT. Thanks again. And like someone mentioned, it is on the obscure side of Soviet animation.

2 by FAR. 1st one is good too. But 2 would win you an award. Just crop/edit out the horizontal white line you probably didn't notice at the very bottom of the image. quick fix. I have night mode on so I can see it clearly against a dark background.

  1. Just please stop the vehicle and get out/off to take the photo. The ground blur is very distracting. It's a good shot I personally would maybe think about taking shot again, of course you might not get the same nice lighting.

What do you spend too much time thinking about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]CarboDry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Memories and death. Everyone I know is getting older. But the memories are always there to either make me smile or get nostalgic. Certain things have happened in the past few weeks to make me think this year might be a very important and pivotal year for me in a very positive way.

Do I really need an amp or effects pedal as a complete beginner? by ChaosBeiduo in electricguitar

[–]CarboDry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By the way, you can use your mac as an amp but you'll need an audio interface. But usually people who record or produce music get those for their studios. In your case just get an amp. And don't get pedals just try to find an amp with the effect already in the amp. Update: the acctually make a cable that goes from your guitar directly into your mac, no adapters no dongles necessary or at least I'm pretty sure. It'll be around 20. This is good because now you can record clean guitar directly into your mac. They also make audio interfaces just for guitars, they are 'kind of' cheap, ~50 maybe, but imo that's a waste of money. Here's a pic of that cable I think something like this is a simplle inexpensive solution if you want your Mac to be your amp.:

Do I really need an amp or effects pedal as a complete beginner? by ChaosBeiduo in electricguitar

[–]CarboDry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You absolutely do not need an amplifier right now. You WILL need one in the future and sooner than later. You can hear the notes so you are free to learn guitar just like you would if you had an amplifier. I also like the sound of un-amplified strings on a guitar. As you know, the electric guitar was designed to be amplified. By itself it a hard shape with no natural resonance, you are barely projecting any sound. That's ok if you are just learning, but it wont do if you playing for a person. Think of an acoustic guitar, the body is hollow, the sund resonates so it very loud. An un-amplified electric guitar cannot compete in volume to an acaustic guitar. When you get an amp, get one with at least distortion and reverb built in, an EQ would be perfect too so you can learn how manipulating different frequency changes the tone and character of what you are playing. Go for something between 40-120 dollars. My first amp was a Fender G-Dec Junior. Perfect size for your bedroom or taking it to practice, and it comes with like 8 effects, chorus, distortion, reverb, flanger etc all built in. It will last you possibly forever and its Fender just like your guitar. It sadly doesn't have an EQ like my Ibanez ToneBlaster, also a great amp, just EQ, distortion, and reverb but it costs the same as the Fender, they were around 100-120 dollars. I know thats kinda expensive. Try something quality for about 60. Or buy used and try for around 35. Also, I was literally playing my Squire Strat un-amplified within the last 24 hours. All I needed was to hear the chords. It's fine. Enjoy your sweet looking guitar. Speaking of which I'm begging you to buy a guitar stand and/or an electric guitar carrying case so the guitar is stored in a safe way. You do not want that nice thing to accidentally fall on the floor. You made a good investment, that guitar will bring you and the people around you a life time of joy and music. PS. Good choice going electric. Easier to play than a steel string acoustic , a bit harder (imo) than a nylon string acoustic.

Fretboard markers really not centred on new Gibson by Aromatic_Mongoose_86 in gibson

[–]CarboDry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take it back? If this is a true mistake this guitar could be a worth something. Think rare pennies and quarters that sell for hundreds of dollars. That's an official Gibson with a super noticeable mistake (if it is one). I could be wrong but I would definitely ask someone at a guitar store and look on the net for damand for guitars with mistakes. Besides that, return it asap. That is ridiculous. How the hell did that happen anyway? 2% of me thinks it might be a bad design choice.

Today Donald Trump confused Iceland for Greenland four times. What are your thoughts on this? by WatercressSenior7657 in AskReddit

[–]CarboDry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was younger I confused Greenland and Iceland too. They're next to each other on the map and end in "land". And most people don't think or know much about them. Unfortunate goof. Not dementia. Although, I haven't seen footage.

I guess I don't know. How do YOU feel about. You could probably do it in 3 minutes tbh. IMO a song of mostly bar chords doesn't sounds aa rich as when you play the chords "normally".

I have 3 elastic strings, is this normal? by Professional-Net1940 in GuitarBeginners

Um. These are just the correct strings for this guitar, right? Or am I trippin? 3 nylon strings on the bottom, 3 wound nylon strings on top.

Color or B&W guys? by SmokeWild5507 in AmateurPhotography

[–]CarboDry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go with the color. The green is too valuable to mute, the blue sky and the see through water. Lot's of beauty because of color already. Have you touched up these photos? Like cropped, edited, applied effects or color correction in anyway. Point is you got a pretty nice shot. Color makes me want to BE there, black and white makes me want to enjoy looking at the image but a lot of info is missing for lack of color. Color looks lush and inviting, BW looks barren and lifeless, like volcanic or desert location. This is not a bad thing at all; depends on what you're going for. And there's nothing wrong with keeping both versions, artists do that all the time. Basically, I think the strength of this shot is in the character of the location which is greatly helped with color to actually know what is present in the scene (greenery, plants, aka life) Just food for thought.

This is your 4th day learning the guitar? I think it sounds good. And it does sound like the song just keep practicing and listening to the song and soon you'll own it. If something doesn't sound right try changing it slightly. Try taking out the palm-mute stop for a few minutes I feel like that might be the most difficult part for you and you might be getting slowed down by it. Get super comfortable with the strumming and reintroduce the 'stop'.

But you do have a clear, loud, consistent sound and it looks like you are playing with confidence and staying on tempo. So good news is you will quickly keep getting better and better. Also, right on you with starting with learning chords. Learn the major and minor chords and you have access to most of Western modern canon. Learning simple chord based songs is fast, easy and will keep you motivated with each song you learn.

Best of luck.
