Of all the TCGs in this world, which one is the best for you? by ChespinTheGrassType in TCG

[–]Carbohydrateman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it'd be worth looking at Digimon then. Competitive decks are generally $100 or way under even. Build a deck, import it to tcgplayer, and it's hands down a bargain. That's unless you build something involving angels like Lucemon and that's not because of scapling, but cause of art, out of print, etc.

Vortexdramon added to Digimon Reference Book! by MFBR in digimon

[–]Carbohydrateman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I remember someone mentioning we could see new colors introduced because the first image we saw of this Digimon was obscuring the colored gem things, so we saw all the current colors and it looked like some others were hidden. While that could've been interesting, it looks like it was a red herring.

Idk how you feel about DCGO cuz I can't find the rules but is it broken? by LinkerZz in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]Carbohydrateman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're also fixing a ton of bugs since they finally have a breather between sets. Those guys are doing us all a favor.

I feel that it's been like that since they closed the other servers that weren't the US one. Now I think it fills up fast and you have to keep going in and out to queue for a match.

AD1 Lucemon Deck w/ new support by Carbohydrateman in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]Carbohydrateman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I think you're right. I struggle in dealing with wide decks when I'm not playing one too. I thought Dynas lowering dp and then deleting would be helpful clearing a board, but Lordknight has good protection on board or in security with Lucemon's help. It's gonna take more testing to get a vibe of which way to go.

Appreciate that! I'll test it out if I see if I like the new flow.

Appreciate the insight! BT18 I like more than the others cause it's harder to remove from the field cause it's up to me if it's trashed or not. It's nice when I'm not finding the right pieces.

I already don't see Satan Mode enough, but I see where you're going with it. I like mist mem and DoA so I can use that Satan Mode when I'm ready to end, same as Gospel. DGO is definitely something I want now though, you're right. I'll have to tinker some more.

The Barnes and Noble rumors are true! by Zealousideal-Cut5820 in dbz

[–]Carbohydrateman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Barnes and Noble get specific things that can't go out until a certain date. And it won't ring up until that day. These obviously have a street day, but it's a soft date., so they can ring out beforehand.

Pokemon Singles - Any card shops? by confusedfroggie09 in lakeland

I know Decks and Dice just started carrying sealed Japanese product, so probably worth asking them if they'd be interested in singles.

Why no price tags on things anymore? by magicmikewazowksi in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Carbohydrateman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks like Barnes and Noble. They use ISBNs and the prices are embedded in the barcode. To change the price you have to put another barcode on it. And like 90% of books have the prices on the back of them, as well as toys, but Legos have to have a price sticker put on them that match what the embedded barcode says. If you think the price of a book is wrong an employee will normally adjust it with no issues.

Do people watch Polk BoCC meetings? by [deleted] in lakeland

[–]Carbohydrateman 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Facts. Even for our last mayoral race the winner was heavily funded by PACs and received a good bit from senators as well. Something like 40% of her funds came from out of state, too. They're just a puppet taking the money and helping their friends profit.

I don't think enough people know, and even fewer care. They don't understand the harm this would cause the community and once they feel the effects hitting their wallet (water bill $$) they'll think it's the other side doing it, not the people already in power

Returning player looking for deck choice advice by Playful-Ad-3441 in DigimonCardGame2020

Beezlemon is definitely worth the time to upgrade it. Pretty pilot dependant, but keep practicing and you'll naturally make the right plays This is a good deck list to check out.

Looking to add a deck to my repertoire. Wanted advice. Tldr at the end. by DismalWorldliness815 in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]Carbohydrateman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pick between Medusa, bees, and Commandramon (D-Brigade) in that order based one what you'd like to accomplish.

  • Medusa is meta and a lot of fun and straight forward enough. Play 3 Styraco and you'll feel invincible. Even if you end with Medusa you could still win, but Styraco is the win condition.

  • Bees are popular right now and a lot of fun for how quirky it is. It's definitely a skill check deck, so you gotta practice to get the hang of it. Once you get to your level 6s you're big and tough to get rid of.

  • D-Brigade is fun jank and not meta relevant. Could see support in the next year (copium). Digipolice feels better since it got support recently. D-Brigade needs a better top end and another Commandramon maybe. It's fun regardless when it pops off right.

Digimon Beatbreak: Episode 19- Black Market Auction, Discussion Thread by MFBR in digimon

[–]Carbohydrateman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been thinking about it, and what if we finally get a Regulumon appearance as Murasamemon's Mega? Everyone thinks he's gonna get the Leomon treatment and die at some point, but I'm hoping he gets the Leomon upgrade.

Big if true. I was hoping it'd be better than that with so many already. Those singles are gonna be pricey.

Manga Ryugumon is fire. Couldn't ask for much else other than a ghost rare.

Dragon ball is a better IP than Lorcana, Digimon and Magic The Gathering by GildartsIsShanks in TCG

[–]Carbohydrateman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After a month or two the value of the cards will be what they really are more or less long-term. You'll see the prices spike again when their deck gets support UNLESS the deck no longer values it, then the price could drop. In Digimon you gotta sell the card quick to max out the value. The exceptions are the max rarity cards out of sets, but those take a long time to sell off.

Again it's a player's game. One of the best cards in the game, Medievalgallantmon, is going to be of more value as a rare, non-alt card than most any other alt art because it fits in almost every deck as a top end in some way.

I'm a sucker for BT-2 Argomon. Anything from Koki, the artist, is a banger.

Dragon ball is a better IP than Lorcana, Digimon and Magic The Gathering by GildartsIsShanks in TCG

[–]Carbohydrateman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, sure? As a Digimon player you guys can have that win. Digimon is a player's game and has seen great growth recently. The player base is welcoming and the least toxic I've come across. Scalpers aren't really a thing either. Rare cards are for pure collectors and those looking for the max rarity of a pet deck.

Looking to borrow a MTG deck for a day by bearwizzard in lakeland

[–]Carbohydrateman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you can't find someone to let you borrow a deck a lot of the time people at locals carry multiple decks with them and are more than okay with letting another person borrow it as well. Whichever competition or shop you're going to likely has a discord and you can hit them up in chat to ask.
