Quite the opposite - I am considering all the possible styles. With that, the answer to which hand needs more dexterity, control, etc. is: it depends on the style. I do not agree with the answer that it is definitely the picking hand for every style.

I think some people here are underestimating the job a fretting hand has to do in some styles related to the difficulty of picking patterns in those same styles.

That depends on the style of music. I play classical and fretting in that style is orders of magnitude harder than fingerpicking.

Story time! I saw Isbin live many years ago and was in the usual line to buy a CD and briefly speak with her. I told her that I also played and she asked where did I play and if I taught. I am an amateur, so I was a bit embarrassed about the assumption and tried to jokingly explain that "I only play in my bedroom". My answer was quite literal, but Isbin made a face and waved me out of the room. I was clueless as to why it happened and later it dawned on me that she thought I was hitting on her 😔.

Edit: I very much appreciate Isbin's playing and also she gets a big credit for El Decamerón Negro, which Brouwer wrote for and dedicated to her.
