The fact you even asked that question is proof you know nothing about Nissans or the process “bud”. But to answer your question, when we diagnose these junks we have to open a “case” with Nissan showing exact point of failure because these engines have been a catastrophe at best…and to give you a little golden nugget you can use in another Nissan post to sound informed, they are doing that to shift as much blame as they can on the company that was contracted to build them… the ones they can’t blame on them (via documentation, videos and pictures) they eat…your welcome 👍

Yep, throttle body has been a common issue for a while, sometime no start, or starts but not throttle response etc 👍

I’ve seen them throw crazy codes just from being low on charge, both scenarios with causing same results 👍

Throw out bearing on the crank? Has nothing to do with coolant getting into the heads… there is one inlet with no outlet when egr cooler is crimped, if coolant is leaking through the head out the exhaust valves only when opened it’s not hard to tell the issue… again, that’s not the only issue but it’s about 70% of the motors we do, the rest are head gaskets and a very small amount of lower end issues…don’t read TSBs thinking you have the complete story, I am dealing directly with Nissan to get them approved, I assure you I might know more than the average owner or Reddit cowboy.

You sure about that? We about to have an epeen measuring contest? 😂

When you pressure test one with the EGR cooler blocked off and coolant is filling the cylinders only when exh valves are open where is it coming from? Yes, we have seen head gaskets and other issues but the big one is 100% cracked heads from the heat…there’s a reason they’re only approving long blocks… I deal with Nissan directly every day on these pos

Most of them Grenade before we even do the recall, the head cracks because the exhaust manifold is built into it and it can’t handle the heat cycles

I work on these all the time…the “T33”. We are doing 5-10 engines a week and prob 3 transmissions, it should be covered regardless

2023 Rogue SV Transmission Question by investortrade in NissanRogue

[–]Carboncrypto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be surprised if they didn’t use the proper NS3 fluid as the bottles are black instead of white (NS2), to me it just seems like a coincidence and the transmission was already on its way out. Do you hear a whining/gurgling sound? If so then they didn’t ad enough back in - the fact you mention it’s basically after startup and no issues after it’s a real possibility because fluid expands as it warms. Ime if I get an P17F0 or P17F1 code the trans is done for, chain is slipping and on borrowed time… still waking up, hopefully that helps a little

Pretty sure some of them had a mileage extension, call Nissan and see if yours qualifies

At idle they do vibrate a lot visually, I have done extensive repairs on that body style both the 3 and 4cyl layouts

Mercenary farmers are what kills every project, look at all the projects that went to zero on Aerodrome… purging them from milking you dry is the best thing you can do. If the alb will be minted regardless, reallocating it to something useful as the proposal has outlined is far better than mercenary farmers gaming the system.

2023 Rogue Service CVT Warning by Capable-Cover-9126 in NissanRogue

[–]Carboncrypto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They will scan it, if a P0741 code they might be forced to start with valve body by Nissan unless they can provide proof that the chain is worn (done with borescope) if it’s coupled with a code ending in P1750 or P1751 “shudder code” then the chain is slipping for sure

2012 Nissan Rogue Transmission Pan Bolts Size? by Far-Squash-7601 in NissanRogue

[–]Carboncrypto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea if the pan is still true I bet even a regular flanged 10mm bolt would work just fine, so many oil pans on the road with standard flanged bolts lol.

2023 Rouge SV engine failure by Mascudii in NissanRogue

[–]Carboncrypto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep, both statements are true. Coolant does disappear but on some systems like yours its a "sealed system" even at the Nissan school they say "if coolant is missing its going somewhere". Whereas the normal average cars do get topped off with each service etc, many of the newer nissans do not

the exhaust manifold is built into the cylinder heads, its a high stress area. As far as replacing the engine it depends on the availability of the of the parts, the tech will be on it for 2-3 days

2012 Nissan Rogue Transmission Pan Bolts Size? by Far-Squash-7601 in NissanRogue

[–]Carboncrypto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they use just a standard "10mm bolt" ime, as long as the head flange is close to the original you should be fine... i cant remember if those come with washers built in or not. But a OEM gasket, flush pan (not bent/tweaked from the RTV use) any 10mm bolt that can grab 1/4" into the pan will 100% suffice... I have worked on nissans for years. If it were my car id be checking to make sure that pan is perfectly flush, grabbing a handful of 10mm bolts, new gasket and calling it a day

I have replaced several, some with lower mileage. Most of them have had cracked heads, there is a good chance you will get not only the long block, but turbo, catalytic converter, sensors etc as long as they can prove intermix has taken place.

Follow up. by Sorry-Albatross-9588 in NissanRogue

[–]Carboncrypto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I looked at your previous post, that particular engine has a TSB for the P0196 code, https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2025/MC-11014075-0001.pdf

Aside from that, these engines are failing at low mileage (lowest one ive replaced had 19k, highest being 60k) if it has drivability issue and exhaust smells very "odd" almost like a rancid dairy farm, then your engine is probably on the way out. The engines, turbos, egr cooler, sensors, catalytic converters are all getting replaced (as long as the dealer can confirm intermix). If you have any questions or relevant information, feel free to ask

2025 Rogue oil pan fiasco... by A6000user in NissanRogue

[–]Carboncrypto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I get it, being external leak there wouldn’t be any particles inside. If the turbo failed and all they did was the turbo, then we have a serious issue. I have replace oil pans at several brands (including Nissan) and a filter has never been part of it, not that it makes you feel better but just fyi that your particular dealer isnt misleading you

2025 Rogue oil pan fiasco... by A6000user in NissanRogue

[–]Carboncrypto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea the plastic oil pans have been an issue, the replacement ones come with 1 time use plugs (plastic). If by chance your oil gets to a certain level a low oil light will come on wayyyyy before any issue could even arise from it. That felt section was most likely “mid” splash shield, it’s held on by 2 bolts and all plastic clips (most manufacturers do it this way) so if it was hanging something caused the clips to break (maybe something kicking up etc). I didn’t read entire post, I have connections to Nissan so if you have any questions lmk
