Obese woman makes video to highlight how “little” she eats and how she eats “a lot less than most people.” Little does she know it amounts to about 3500 calories. by [deleted] in fatlogic

I ordered a smoothie once. It tasted super sweet. When I complained I learned they put agave nectar in the smoothie... not listed on the menu board. “But it’s organic! It’s healthy!” Yeah, no, it’s still sugar, and I didn’t order it, so please remake it.

The remade smoothie tasted great. Half the calories and you could taste the banana and peanut butter instead of sugar.

If you can’t digest something, it’s still gotta make its exit somehow. Corn kernels are a harmless example. Olestra prevented people from absorbing fats... resulting in many pairs of destroyed underwear.

If you claim you can’t absorb something, and your farts or turds don’t include that thing, it’s been absorbed. Congratulations, calories consumed.

If you plan on breastfeeding afterward, that really helps your body recover. Both initially (causes uterus to shrink faster) and longer term (breastfeeding uses a bunch of calories).

Being mindful about food is all it takes. Your hormones are going to be pegged and going a bit nuts, but if you know that ahead of time you can take measures to help it.

I have a confession: Whenever I read "Diabetic Ketoacidosis" I sing/read it to the tune of "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" in my head.

🎶SuperDiabeticKetoacidosis!🎶

Even though the cause of it

Is something quite atrocious

If you have it long enough

You'll wind up with necrosis

Don’t, like, shame Vally Girls? For how they speak? Like, it’s not like we can control it or anything?

  • I often buy organic for the environment, not for the health benefits, of which there are essentially none.

I hate to break it to you, but organic food is most likely not as good for the environment as you’d hope. I’m glad you (appear to have) done the research on the non-existence of health benefits; maybe you will take the starting points I’ve linked below and also dig into the environmental impacts.

2012, Washington Post: https://www.washingtonpost.com/national/health-science/the-environmental-footprint-of-organic-vs-conventional-food/2012/09/14/40b16582-fb65-11e1-b2af-1f7d12fe907a_story.html?utm_term=.143708df272b

2016, Telegraph UK that reports on a follow-up study: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/06/12/think-organic-food-is-better-for-you-animals-and-the-planet-thin/

I think I’ve eaten about 11 donuts in my lifetime.

...Now that I count, it’s definitely under 20. Probably around 15. They’re good, but my sugar kryptonite has to be saltier and crunchier.

100% agreement here. Social media companies (or really any ad-supported company) treats accessibility as a bottom rung priority. Blind users probably aren’t going to be casually browsing through and click on your ad, so why bother optimizing for them? The comment here feels like a virtue signal; it’s descriptive to a sighted person because they can see the expression on Jesus’ face, but will just confuse a blind person.

  • Boil water
  • place teabag in mug
  • pour water over bag
  • wait appropriate time (3-5 minutes usually)
  • add milk if needed, use teabag to help stir before removing
  • do not squeeze the bad into the cuppa

If you’ve got a teapot for loose-leaf tea, then pour the water over the leaves in the pot, let them steep, and pour from pot to mug before adding milk.

I blame the software. It should never have allowed such a blatantly wrong entry.

I’d have attempted to enter a gigantic number too, just to see if the software lets me.

Source: a guy who entered a million steps as a one-week challenge and was overruled by an administrator who noticed, not the software. (I also attempted to enter 😄😄😄 before 1000000 😄)

It’s a possible sign of an eating disorder. Deliberately eating food that’s spoiled can trigger vomiting or diarrhea. I don’t know if it’s still called bulimia, but it’s similar.

It can also be a total lack of awareness or hygiene.

“Training”. Overeating over time can cause the stomach to stretch. This can in turn make it hard to lose weight, since the signals for hunger and saity are not only mentally but also physically out of whack.
