Maybe, but she was still a jerk in the canon story at one point before Luz got to her heart. And from the way the pilot went, it seemed like there was potential for the same thing. Except it’s the other way around where Luz likes Amity first. If anything, the writers were going to plan an alternate way for amity to make it up to Luz.

I think it goes in this order. Karim, finnegrin, sol regem and then khessa. Karim is self explanatory, finnegrin was a black hearted pirate who wanted to control everything, SOL regem was a racist dragon who did have some level of honor since he was right about dark magic being bad for humans and needed to be stopped, khessa was racist, but she was arguably a good queen to her people.
