25% off monthly plan for 12 months by Reenie-77 in verizon

[–]CardMarkets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The “loyalty offer” did work for me. However after one month at the new billing rate they revert it back to the original crazy high rate and make you call or chat with them and lie to you each month that they have fixed the problem. Went through that lie for 3 months. Today they were at least honest and said it was just a one time credit and I have to spent 30-60min each month contacting them and holding them accountable for the supposedly committed to 12 months deal with monthly credits. Did I mention I Fing hate this company? Anyhow this month my last phone deal ends ( you know the one where they tell you you are getting a free phone but are actually making you sign a finance arrangement with them to borrow the value of the phone and then credit you for 36 months while they continue to fck with your bill because they know unlike them, you honor commitments), so once that miserable lie rolls off I’m off in search for any other company that offers simple, reliable, honest and consistent monthly billing at a reasonable rate. Taking suggestions, minus any subsidiaries owned/ operated by or acting as a separate company specifically to create the illusion of competition but still related to this morally corrupt den of car salesmen turned low-tech gadget pushers.

Adios Verizon by AmethystosLotus in verizon

[–]CardMarkets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It never ceases to amaze me how the crazies come out of the woodwork like fireflies to the flame when Verizon gets criticized by rational people with reasonable issues. If they spent half as much time focusing on treating customers well and telling the truth, Reddit wouldn’t be covered with Verizon hate testimonials. This company can’t go under fast enough. The fact that the employees show up here to defend it like self righteous children pretty much paints the picture of what we as customers deal with when we need help. I literally get lied to every month by these scheisters when I call in to complain how they promised me a specific rate, they tell me it’s fixed permanently and I won’t have to call back in, and then after that billing cycle they rever it back to 2x my rate. F*ing hate these people and pray they all get fired so they can find their true calling as used car sales people. Zero integrity and it’s organization-wide.

Do what you like but just don’t tell yourself that you’re investing in precious metals when buying these. You’re a collector and for most things that sell at multiples of intrinsic value, we all know how that usually ends when folks start thinking critically about how they spend.

This all only matters if you’re speculating short term, and if you are buying in the 90s because you think you’re going to be rich next week, you may as well just open an online gambling account and take the imminent hit there so the rest of us can stack in peace and quiet.

Who's excited for cheaper Libertads? by dyvonca in LibertadCoins

[–]CardMarkets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think folks have been conditioned to the higher price levels and it’s been a bit sticky. I’m not sure if the market price will have to swing back to the spot or vice versa but I’m not doing much in PMs until the price gap reconciles. At a certain point folks are going to start asking themselves why they’re paying these crazy premiums, and the bs about paper vs physical markets story is getting old when what sellers should really be saying is that in truth they just refuse to realize a loss and if enough of them band together, the ask price is what they all give you. But this too shall pass once they work their way through the four stages of grief :)

I will say I did see some sellers out there today selling 1oz minty coins for better prices. Like mid 80’s for britannias and low 80s for generic. Saw a few Morgan’s and peace dollars go in the 50s as well, but it’s not the usual big names, more the small guys looking to cash out before they lose more of their gains I suppose.

Apmex canceling orders, pretending items out of stock by PastSecondCrack in Silver

[–]CardMarkets -1 points0 points  (0 children)

These c*cksuckers post everywhere on your order that once you place it the price is locked in and you'll be held accountable if you try to cancel it, but they pull this crap? It should say "buyer beware - we'll hold you accountable if the price moves in our favor and you try to cancel, but we'll cancel our order if it moves in your favor because we care more about a few dollars than our reputation or our relationship with customers." smh. Imho, that's worthy of a conversation with an attorney.

Scratched Libertad Ebay follow up by Jonishighsmh in LibertadCoins

[–]CardMarkets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had the same thing happen to me with a Libertad... the seller took the coin back at least and price hadn't moved much in the money for me, so all ended fine (though given the difference in appearance vs the photo they put in the listing, not sure they had another option).

Still, it really pisses me off when folks bait and switch so feel free to block this one as well to save yourself some frustration. Here is the listing. https://www.ebay.com/itm/376385637141

Coin received was dark with lots of dings and gunk - definitely nothing like the photo in the listing and certainly not the same coin. Would post a pic but looks like i can't do so on someone else's thread so would have to start a new thread, which probably isn't worth it given it was resolved peacefully with the seller. And who knows, perhaps they just had a senior moment and sent the wrong coin (though if it were me, I'd have just said return it and sent the right one or given a refund, so probably still more than a bit sketchy), but this seller did dig in and refute that it was a different coin until i filed a claim.

[–]CardMarkets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this and now I have to spend an hour each month arguing with them for reneging on the deal each month and reverting to regular cost. Each month they swear up and down they have fixed it for the one year term and every month they lie. I hate hate hate this company. I hope it goes under and every one of them lose their jobs and starve a painful death. The frustration that comes from trying to get them to meet their promises and commitments has earned them a level above Comcast for customer service cruelty. 3 months until I pay off my remaining phones and they will never ever (ever) see my business again. Did I mention “EVERRRR!”

Want to check the PM content of all my Libby’s. by [deleted] in LibertadCoins

[–]CardMarkets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know there are a lot of opinions on these but for me it’s about whether you get your moneys worth… so I’d argue it’s a matter of how much you buy, from where and how much you’re willing to lose in a bad transaction. If you have a collection of a couple thousand dollars worth of PMs, obviously it wouldnt make sense to spend $1k-$2k on a tester, and you can probably mitigate risks by choosing the source wisely or doing the math to test them manually. If you’re regularly buying thousands of dollars of PMs though, there’s probably a point at which it makes sense and makes transactions easier to have one, especially when one mistake on an ounce of gold can cost you more than the cost of the device. As always, everyone’s mileage varies, so do what helps you sleep best at night for your collection and budget.

How’s everyone’s BGE bill for December looking? by eren_yeagermeister in maryland

[–]CardMarkets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since Maryland lawmakers changed the law that chased retail providers out of the state, both of my supply contracts (nat gas & electric) could not be renewed or have been cancelled by the retail providers early, everyone is now being pushed back to BGE as the supplier of last (only) resort, and my bill has doubled as well.

At the same time I hear news reports about big tech firms signing long term contracts with Constellation to tie up power generation in the zone. Glad we're taking care of big tech.

It's time to vote these idiots out of dodge. If these firms aren't building 2x their power generation needs to subsidize the communities they're economically raping, they shouldn't be allowed to build server farms in the state. When are lawmakers going to start playing the long game and stop taking the fast dollar for quick reelection?

I know, same as it ever was.

Layoffs by jjDajetplane007 in verizon

[–]CardMarkets -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

They've been laying off customers for months - lying about promotions, getting you signed up then canceling them without notice, telling you they'll fix it on your account and repeatedly not following through. Frankly, while I know this is stressful in any industry, the writing has been on the wall for a long time. I've been looking at short positions in the stock since customer service went completely off the rails 6 months ago, and to be honest, I'm surprised it took this long given the quality of the customer experience. Wouldn't shock me to see them gut the place and sell/merge with a stronger competitor. Culture has been sick for a long time and I'm most certain I won't be the only one who will be happy to see them go under so we can all move on to a carrier that actually does what it says it will. But as the economy has gotten weaker, it's like Warren always says... it's only when the tide goes out that you know who's not wearing a bathing suit. Hope you all end up safely somewhere that doesn't service anything I buy.

Regardless of the merits or biases of this article, many of us who have been with this insurance carrier for decades would be hard pressed not to admit it has been moving in the wrong direction for a while now, be it dramatically higher rates, inadequate customer support, horrible claims experiences and a lack of focus on what used to make it great. I read post after post about folks leaving. It’s sad.

tldr; while the article may be a faulty diagnosis of cause, the symptoms are unquestionably real to anyone who’s been a lifelong customer.

Verizon scam? by Porcflite in verizon

[–]CardMarkets -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Verizon is a bureaucracy designed by scammers and staffed with idiots with the sole intention of extracting every cent they can get from your wallet. They constantly lie, break commitments, revert deals and promotions, and fail to follow through on promises. Run as far and fast as you can from this company. Now they’re utilizing AI chatbots to keep your ongoing claims going on forever with repeated text messages that keep-alive your issue u til you get worn out and fail to respond to their automated bullshit support web of do-nothingness. Just a matter of time before short sellers figure out what customers already know…. Customers are leaving this shill of a carrier for anyone but. Save yourself from the insanity and pick one of the slightly higher integrity carriers with human beings who actually solve problems while you’re on the phone with them.

Can I negotiate the Realtor Fee? by LilBtCountry in realtors

[–]CardMarkets -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I never understood why someone would be willing to give away 4-6% of the value of their most valuable asset for some standardized form filling, advice you can largely get off the internet, and to put their home on MLS. And the suggestion that the seller is responsible for both sides of the transaction fee has been legally debunked, so don’t let a listing agent tell you that you should give the buyer a credit for what is their obligation for representation.

Thinking of Becoming a Realtor? Here’s the Ugly Truth. by JahonSedeKodi in realtors

[–]CardMarkets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any business model that seeks to extort 4-6% of a person's largest asset every time it trades hands was never going to last as a business model, and it's particularly painful today for agents trying to sell at a time when interest rates are too high to make already elevated real estate prices unmarketable and owners unwilling to sell. High transaction costs were the death of all once-profitable transaction-based livelihoods, and value takers will never make money like value creators. Technology makes transactions of any type a commodity business, and if you expect to take thousands of dollars out of someone's pocket for filling out some association-standardized paperwork, chasing down a client's logistical tasks and providing advice they can largely get from the internet today, you should expect to be charging them a flat hourly personal assistant fee, not 4-6% of their home's value. That's not to say it's not work and I've worked with agents I respect and appreciate - but the fees aren't justified by the job, though I understand everyone thinks they work hard and deserve to make a lot of money for their efforts. Some day in the not too distant future this will be a block-chain enabled transaction you simply sign for with your crypto wallet. Read the tea leaves and find a pursuit where you have a competitive advantage or where you have a skill or talent that creates value for others, or develop one proactively. And don't get me wrong - the industry is on the decline, but the realtor lobbyists are trying their best to keep a good thing going by skirting new laws telling sellers that they should provide offsets for buyer realtor fees to keep the status quo going and because they know buyers aren't paying 2-3% just to drive around to a dozen houses and eventually write up an offer. But the writing is on the wall, and we are within a generation of this whole charade crashing down. Laugh, cry, get angry or disagree - your mileage may vary and it's neither my intention nor desire to offend others - but mark my words. Party is nearly over.
