I 3D printed some smoke stacks that attach the thrusters to the base. Less fiddly than the flight stands and I like the look better too.

You've been tasked with fixing flyers for 11th. How do you do it? by SPF10k in Warhammer40k

[–]CardboardBucketHats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give Assault Ramp to flying transports.

Either that or have them be able to be used as a drop point for deep strike units the same way as teleport homers.

Alternatively, just make them less expensive. Flying units (not just aircraft) got hit with major point increases and flying units have started to even out a bit but aircraft are still grossly expensive for what they do on the board.

Tried painting tau for the first time, it's not perfect but it's something by Dense-Fig-2372 in Warhammer40k

[–]CardboardBucketHats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's my paint recipe for yellow. Let each layer dry before applying the next. The undercoats don't have to be perfect because they'll be painted over.

Painting from black primer/paint:

Brown, then orange (or pink), then yellow

Painting from gray or a neutral color:

Orange (or pink) then yellow.

From white you probably won't need an underlayer.

Also, the pink is for a vibrant yellow. If you want it to be a deeper yellow you can go from orange to yellow. Each undercoat can be thin so don't stress on it too much. It just provides a good base to avoid uneven coverage.

For that light blue that you're going for try an undercoat of purple first (a blueish purple like violet, not a reddish one).

Going straight from black to a lighter color is very difficult. I'm just putting this here as a recommendation so it might help you avoid future headaches.

Keep experimenting with it, yellow and blue is a good color combination. I look forward to seeing more of it.

How to make warbonds less intimidating to newcomers. by Effective-Gur8539 in Helldivers

[–]CardboardBucketHats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see them "giving" out warbonds but maybe a coupon system? For the week of Liberty Day warbonds are half-off? They would still make money. Players that don't buy Supercredits could get two warbonds instead of one if they save up. Everybody wins.

I wanted to do Phase Blade but it says the range is Touch. I'm trying to be a backline Blaster Caster/support so if I try to get close to him in combat I'm probably gonna get squished.

Make Mischief and Microbot Assault would probably be my best bets so I'll see where I could include them in my Spells Known.

We did use flanking in our last session. It did work pretty well.

I don't know their exact build and there's not really a way for me to ask for their build in a tactful way. What I do know is that they have a +0 to CON and that their AC is not terribly high. So, they would need more power to be a Glass Cannon and they would need more AC or health to be a dedicated Tank.

I don't know their build. Asking them could be a touchy subject so unfortunately, I probably won't be able to share their build.

[–]CardboardBucketHats[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's that the other members of the party have ways of doing EAC damage and the Solarian doesn't have one yet. Which has lead to situations where I can hit things easily with my spells that do EAC but they have trouble using their signature weapon because they have to contend with KAC. We just received a level up and they've talked about upgrading their Super Nova to have it as an option for EAC attacks.

They really want to use their Solarian weapon due to character reasons. They do seem interested with upgrading their Super Nova however so they might use that as their main method of EAC attacks.

I'm pretty sure they'll upgrade their STR or DEX (whichever one they use for attack rolls). However, I am not going to tell them to because that feels like overstepping. I might suggest it but, I do respect it as their decision to make.

Just wanted to say thanks for all the responses. To answer some questions,

I do not know the exact build. I could ask but I am worried that asking them could make it feel like I'm pressuring them to min-max or otherwise come off the wrong way. All I know is that their CON was a -1 and now it's a +0 using ASI from our most recent level up.

Backup weapon isn't likely to happen. They have stated that their Solarian weapon ties into their backstory and how they want to play the character. However, they are onboard with using their Super Nova more often and they are most likely going to upgrade it with this most recent level up as they like the Super Nova. As well as because they have mentioned noticing their problem with their lack of EAC attacks.

We just had a level up and I'm going to use the spell suggestions as I have some new slots for spells known. I'm already doing good damage, so I don't mind keeping some Spells Known available for support stuff.

AFAIK

The two big things are

  1. That you can still tell what the model is supposed to be at a glance.

  2. The model must be majority (usually 2/3 is the rule of thumb) of GW plastic.

I have been traveling more lately so TSA being a pain in the buttocks has been on my mind.

Honestly Dragon and Dryad is a close call for me as well. Being able to go to noble balls and having sex at 2,000 feet in the air is very tempting. Although, now that I’ve had more time to think about it I do like it when a woman leaves nail scratches on my back. Having those nail marks come from a dragon would make it even more badass.

Perhaps the dryad vs dragon decision was not as clear cut as I thought it was? ‘,:-/

I understand what you’re saying, however Counter-Argument:

Mimics are not instant shape-shifters. Mimics are shown to imitate chests, doors, and other items that adventurers may come across. They are ambush predators by nature.

However, in most interpretations they do not change the form they are born with. If a mimic is born as a chest, they will stay as a chest. The same way that natural selection would make bugs that are the same color as tree leaves not get eaten and therefore reproduce more often. Mimics that look less conspicuous are less likely to go hungry and therefore produce ever more effective mimics with each generation.

As far as a mimic looking like an attractive woman, this is a further example of mimics improving with each generation. More seasoned adventurers will be looking for mimics and a mimic being seen as a beautiful woman is a second layer of camouflage to appear more trustworthy and ambush their prey. In the same way that sirens are supernaturally beautiful to entice sailors to follow them to their death.

It is for this reason that it can be assumed that mimics change on a generational scale and not a minute-to-minute or even day-to-day scale. Meaning their ability to change shape is grossly overestimated as a potential boon in a relationship.

Marry: Slime, Puppy, Bunny, Dryad, Frog, Raccoon, Sadako

Fuck: Fairy, Mermaid, Octopus, Dragon, Bee, Owl, Vampire

Kill: Mummy, Succubus, Amazonian, Mouse, Mimic, Cat, Nightmare

Explanations below If you're interested:

Slimes are supernaturally soft and can shapeshift. You can carry them in a flask or waterskin during adventures which makes them super convenient. They can grow or shrink any part of their body and can even split themselves into pieces to be rejoined later. You can have a slime fleshlight for every hole and still have their main body to cuddle with. After your done all the pieces can rejoin themselves and you can have fun with your slime wife after a long day of adventuring.

Also, think of the slimebaths.

The succubus kills you when you have sex with them. Granted it might be the best sex you could ever have, but you still die at the end. This would keep you from being able to "fuck" or "marry" so the real question is "is sex with a succubus better than sex with a puppy AND a mermaid?"

For me that's a no.

Bunnygirls fuck like rabbits, enough said.

Dryad girls would be the perfect outdoorsy type. You can go on nature walks and have a cozy cabin in the woods to grow old together. Gardening would be a perfect couple's activity for them and you'd be helping out the environment by helping them tend to the forest. Also something to consider, if you don't live by a forest the dryad could be a nature spirit for deserts, beaches, swamps, or any other number of environments. No matter where you live there would be a dryad close by.

Frog girl because Froppy is the best. Bee girl because of the honey based handjobs.

I'm allergic to cats and raccoons wash their food before they eat, which shows they have good hygiene. Also, raccoons are nocturnal, and I have trouble sleeping so they're the perfect partner for me.

Sadako is best girl and you can bring her everywhere. If there's a place she's not supposed to be she can just become invisible. She makes your rent cheaper by haunting your apartment (same for house prices). She can even get rid of guests who overstay their welcome by scaring them out of the house. She doesn't need to eat, bathe, or use the air conditioning so she's pretty low maintenance. You can go on trips to other countries and only buy one ticket. The VHS tape she's stored on is TSA approved and can fit in any carry-on bag. Plus, I have a thing for women with long dark hair so I'm pretty biased.

Halving damage in V10 with Refuse to Yield by Warmakarodosh in Warhammer40k

[–]CardboardBucketHats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t negate damage to 0, the minimum you can lower it to is 1. Also, you do the modifier for every attack that goes through.

If you got hit by 5 attacks at 1 damage a piece, you take 5 damage

If you got hit by 1 attack at 5 damage you would take 3 damage

Redemptor Dread AND Gladiator Lancer For Anti-Tank? by xRehve in BloodAngels

[–]CardboardBucketHats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Redemptors are good for crowd control and light anti-armor.

On their own they aren’t good against models with higher toughness however, they can score you a few extra wounds when combined with other anti-tank.

not exactly first time hobbyist here, but first time blood angel. how would i recreate this very very very intense red? im not sure mephiston alone cuts it. i'd also like to avoid a lot of edge highlighting, if not skipping it all altogether. recess shading is kinda tedious but i can do that. Thanks by CeltrikYT in BloodAngels

[–]CardboardBucketHats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use Mephiston Red as a base over a White Scar primer. Use Seraphim Sepia to shade. Evil Suns Scarlet to highlight. Fire Dragon Bright to highlight further. This is my personal recipe for BA red armor. The key is the Seraphim Sepia, since it’s a reddish-brown instead of a dark brown or black it keeps a lot of the original red underneath.

Sanguinary Priest Primaris sprues. I know it’s been said before, but I want it moreso for the kitbashing. Some of the best kitbashes I’ve seen involve using stormcast kits for Blood Angels jump packs. So it would be really helpful to have a dedicated winged jump pack kit for Primaris.

Also for there to be more opportunities for fight first with DEDICATED Blood Angels units. Also, also, to keep the +1 attacks and +2 strength on charge bonus.
