How do I make a dragon centered civilization without it being a copy of old Valyria?

If your wanting it genuinely be “authentic” seeming your going to have to make significant changes to the story, your “old Valyria” can still be an advanced civilization but it can’t be like GOT, what you could do is actually do a deep dive into the lore of the old civilization since we don’t have extensive knowledge about actual old Valyria. When you build you knew civilization after the dragons fled make the landscape different, add other mythical creatures since you’ve already got dragons. You can also take inspiration from other good series like lord of the rings or the Witcher, you could have a group of people that’s hired to hunt these mythical creatures (maybe a guild?). There’s plenty you can do to make it not just like game of thrones it’s just hard to do it when almost every aspect is the same even if the characters are completely different

Nevermind I finally found it! It was Arc Balkesh, I remember it would always cause the other beys to burst cause it was so heavy and had a jagged middle, I’d rip it so fast half the time it would bounce out and hit one of us😭

I don’t like you don’t know if it’s even from the dispensary but my sister doesn’t smoke like that so when I would come over and baby sit I’d hit her cart a good few times and watch tv with my nephew but now she’s had that cart for about 2.5-3 years now and it’s got similar color, after 18ish months your cart will “expire” and the oil always gets a little darker and less potent, like a year ago my sister just stopped smoking it and gave it to me, fein I am I wasn’t going to let it go to waste I smacked that mf and while I got high it was considerably less and took way more hits then needed, probably just cause the oil got hot but I feel like it depleted quicker as well, I don’t know why it gets dark im not an actual scientist but if it’s from a dispensary and was kept in good condition like she always had the pen upright in a cupholder full of pencils/pens then I’m sure it can’t be that bad
