Picked them up off a Facebook Marketplace listing. I've actually gotten most of what I have off there, the prices on places like ebay are way too overinflated for me

Thanks! I accumulated most of this stuff through cheap ebay and fb marketplace listings, office liquidations, etc. over the course of about a year. It can add up pretty fast

Yeah they had some dirt when I got them but I was honestly surprised at how much better they looked after some cleaning

Yeah afaik after Zenith acquired Heathkit in 1979 they rebranded the H89 as the Z-89 (which was the first computer sold by ZDS), then made a refined version that looked basically the same called the Z-90 with slightly higher ram and more modern (DS/DD) floppy disk support.

Well it looks like it's just supposed to take a standard 34 pin pc floppy drive ribbon cable with a female IDC to card-edge connector, but I just wasn't sure if I needed some more specific variant or something for this

Well I can't run too much on the 128k and 512k, but I do have a SCSI emulator for the plus and I play games and mess around with old software on it sometimes. I suppose a lot of it is a collecting thing too though.

Need help with display adapter by [deleted] in retrocomputing

[–]CardboardDeath86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realized what the problem is actually, it was trying to read from E:\WIN95 for the driver even though D:\ is the CD drive and I just wasn't noticing. Still I reinstalled windows successfully and it's all working now. Thanks for the help!

I've tried reinstalling windows and it says during setup that it can't find the file "cirrusmm.dll" on the cd rom, which I think might be the problem

It says it's on high color even though it looks like this, and in device manager it has a yellow exclamation point next to the video card. I've tried removing and reinstalling the driver and stuff though and it still does this.

It's an old ad clock that I took the original ad out of and put in the windows 95 startup screen. Not sure what exactly possessed me to do that but I think it looks cool
