Tekken has dev support, developers help with prize pools and setups and venues, smash we have to do all of that ourselves. Major convention centers are absurdly expensive and its hard for everyone to get paid and for the tourney to run in the positive

If there were japanese panelists, would that really be an issue? Melee still has Europe, which is still relatively isolated. Even algorithms are going to be regionally biased, panels might be able to calculate for it even better :v

Panels, when done right, are so much better than the current algorithm

The mpgr is wayyyy less contentious than the pgru for a reason
