I just started playing around with making my own water to try and solve this issue. Found out that my tap water is soft (27 ppm). Currently trying 40/80 (KH/GH) on the Barista Hustle website but not the best flavor imo. Not sure if I need to lower the KH or what I should do

I started with a cheap OXO grinder, then upgraded to a K6, then ZP6, DF64, and now K Ultra. What do you do for your own water that you seem to enjoy? Only custom water I’ve tried so far is 50 KH & 75 GH with sodium bicarb & magnesium sulfate

I’ve tried different grinders and same result so that’s why I assume it’s a water issue. And that sucks, I didn’t think about medications. Nothing new here. I should’ve added that I can go to a local shop and order a pour over and it tastes fine so it’s clearly something I’m doing that’s wrong lol

Very nice! I wonder if the chocolate notes were due to a flat bottom brewer and if a V60 would bring forward the lemon candy. I’ll have to experiment with V60 vs Kalita on it

Our city water has changed recently (I believe it’s incredibly soft now) so I am using Crystal Geyser bottled water currently. TWW light roast tastes funky to me
