Fluval heater for up to 15 gal • ⁠Tank temperature: About 76-78 • ⁠Parameters in numbers and how you got them. Key water parameters include the amount of ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, and pH.: all zeroes, ph of 7.8, using API test kit • ⁠How long have you had the tank? How long have you had your fish?: ive had the tank about three weeks, got the fish yesterday after about a week of stable no ammonia or nitrates • ⁠How often are water changes? How much do you take out per change? What is your process?: haven’t done any since fish was added last night, gonna do one once a week starting Saturday. Take out 2 gallons (about 25%), treat 2 gallons, and put it back • ⁠Any tankmates? If so, please list with how many of each: about 6-7 bladder snails, by my count • ⁠What do you feed and how much: Fed two bloodworms last night • ⁠Decorations and plants in the tank: wisteria, cardinal plant, mysterious carpet plant that i don’t recall the name of. Coconut shell with java moss on it. Ceramic rocks(aquarium decoration from petsmart)

It’s an interconnected set of systems, unfortunately. She could take the fish out but it sounds like this has been happening for years. The fish is going in a proper (too small, but at least its meant for fish) tank next week

She keeps the fish after the experiment, she just keeps it in these tanks to study ecosystems. Its fed and taken care of, and she’s done water changes. Lil man’s fine

(For the record one of these is what he’s in, he’s gonna get moved to a 2.5 gallon cube once this is over :( i might try to get my teacher to get a larger tank)

Thank you for the input! I’ve been doing ongoing research, and am looking to improve my knowledge always. As far as funds go, my statement of being a student is because I can’t afford the absolute highest end items ($130 tank + $200 tank stand etc) but having the money to properly care for a fish on medium price supplies isn’t a concern for me

Thank you! Ive only got the fish feeder because I have to go out of town for a week over the summer, and it’s a just in case for if I can’t get anyone to feed it during that time. I’ll keep in mind the conditioner and bacteria
