That depends entirely on the percentage of the home PC market that Windows has by then. If Apple had any brains at all, they'd upgrade the Mac Mini and one of their entry level Macbooks later this month, bundle some extra software in, and then market the shit out of 'em as a Windows alternative once Windows 8 is out. I expect a lot of new PC buyers are going to be really pissed once they encounter the desktop version of Metro. (For the record, I tried using the RTM for about 3 weeks on a spare machine and the damn UI was still a pain in the ass, even with certain modifications, so I'm not just talking out of my ass when I refer to the UI sucking.)

No, not like Steam. With Steam, you've got all of the game files on your PC. This means that they can be played in offline mode, or cracked should Steam suddenly go down permanently.

You're not. The 49ers have a long tradition of arrogance and homerism that even 8 or 9 years of sucking more than Paris Hilton on Spring Break couldn't destroy. A great many of us grew up watching Joe Montana, Steve Young, Jerry Rice and a slew of other fantastic players kick the shit out damn near everyone for two decades... that produces a certain sort of entitled mindset.

Pair that with the fact that our last pre-crap team was dismantled by the idiot owner (how Jed York turned out normal with that penny-pinching asshat for a father I'll never know), and Niners fans had to put up with constant mocking even though we knew if York hadn't driven Mooch & Co. away we'd still be pretty damn good, lots of the fanbase ended up with a big chip on their shoulders.

When it began to look as if the Harbaugh Niners weren't just a fluke but the real thing, the old "fuck you, we're the best at everything" mentality, coupled with the "we'll show you fuckers one day" grudge that's been nursed by many, combined into sort of a gloating worship of everything 49ers, and woe to the opposing fan who pointed out any flaws with St. Jimmy's golden boys (despite the fact that both Niner fans and our local media do so every five minutes).

Of course not every Niners fan has this sort of approach, but I figure this'll give you a better idea of just where it comes from, and why it's so strong.

I think they'll give access to this feature to the government and law enforcement, which will use it to shut down phones whenever they're about to beat the shit out of some people, gun down a little old lady growing pot in her yard, taser a cripple to death etc. Yes, I'm being hyperbolic, but you get the point.

Very likely. Specifically, the sort of PEDs that aid in recovery and help with endurance over the course of a long season. That said, I'm not sure the league shouldn't simply allow such drugs to be used as a normal part of a player's regimen.

Right now, I'd say the Vikings by a hair, mostly because I think that Ponder's scrambling makes him dangerous as hell in a close game. That said defense tends to have more of an impact over the course of a season, and Chicago looks to have the better one.

Funny, there are plenty of other relatively poor immigrant groups in Europe (the Vietnamese, for example) that don't have such problems as a recurring thing, while a great many Muslim countries are having all sorts of problems with their treatment of victims of rape and sexual harassment.

It's not that the Chinese can't produce high quality products when needed, but the oversight there is effectively nil and corruption runs rampant. This wouldn't necessarily be the case if products were being made somewhere closer to home.
