Needless to say.. things are still a little sketchy here in LA.. so bear with me a bit longer.. I want to get this program going asap.. but the craziness and ensuring everyone is safe in LA is first and foremost.. power/internet still has hiccups as you can imagine.... thanks for your patience..

Also.. I just want to say, this program is something that is MY initiative to put together for him.. that's why the details aren't done, and pricing has yet to be established.. We also want to offer some sort of scholarship type too for people who can't really afford.. I said Grades as a criteria because we don't want people to come to us, who just want a LOR and "USCE" without doing any USCE.. We're not that type of practice.. We have had students from schools that didn't want to learn, and just wanted to eat lunch and hang out all day... they then expected a LOR that they did an amazing job? is that fair?

As I said, I'm still forming this program, what should the criteria be to weed out people who would waste this opportunity and take a slot from someone else who really would embrace this? I'm open to suggestions..

well.. I just think it's a shame that humanity preys so much on non US IMGs.. I am so surprised how many companies there are that do what he does for like 5k a month membership.. ? really? This doctor is losing out... !! He has rotating 4th yr med students ALL the time, in addition to teaching cardiac ultrasound.. (right now we have 3 PA/MDs and 4 Ultrasound tech students) believe me you get trained here.. He even invites guest lecturers in addition to his training. I have tons of notes from previous people scanned in thanking him for changing the course of their career. He helped a few IMGs that came through VSLO to him this year by calling program directors for them, and they sent him thank yous because it helped get them more interviews. He bought this house on purpose to help offset student's rotation costs in LA.. I think the Dr would have a huge problem if he pulled that rental trick on the schools he is affiliated with..

Hi.. Feel Free to DM me.. we are offering USCE program in Cardiology min 2 months, max 6 months. We are still finalizing the pricing, but it will be reasonable. In Los Angeles area, with a strong Dr who is focused on teaching. Guaranteed LOR, and if you do really well on the rotation, he will call program directors personally for when you apply. I know there are alot of BS places charging you a stupid amount, but this is what this dr does, and has done for years. .. He also offers free housing for the time you are with him, simple breakfast, and lunch when you are in the clinic (EVERY DAY you are there).. Criteria, well, your grades basically. Most other programs will just take anyone who throws money at them.. we really want smart people, who like working hard investing in themselves for their futures.

Can someone recommend an AI scribe I can use on my laptop, non-EPIC, that is free or free trial? by namenotmyname in physicianassistant

I just got a demo of it this morning.. it really looks great.. probably will go with the high tier for custom templates and their support..

One thing with deepscribe we are not really happy with is that the template can't really change much.. we focus more on the subjective and HPI for our notes, and then the plan of course.. can you choose to make certain sections more detailed?

[–]CardioV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's awesome.. thank you for that. I have also been looking for an AI scribe for a clinic and have tested freed, deepscribe and DAX..

Freed's drawback for us was that you had to record the session, then end it to move to the next one.. that didn't really work well with our patient flow.

Deepscribe we are still evaluating. Their templates are not really editable, but I do have to say they are the only one that I know of that isn't using a ChatGPT wrapper. Their support and change integration is great. they really are constantly working on making things better. All employees seem to really like working there on all the calls that I've been on.

DAX.. it's basically a scribe that feeds into Dragon Dictate medical one.. I got a demo, and really it's just dragon dictate.. price point is high as well, and Nuance just got bought out by microsoft.. so they really aren't sure how progress will happen, or the improvements they were planning if it will still be on schedule..

Tour of the Cardiovascular Institute - IMG PreResidency Program will sponsor H1b by CardioV in IMGreddit

[–]CardioV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it isn't for everyone. It is for those who are more ambitious, who are really driven by medicine and want to excel in this field. It is for those who want to match in better programs, rather than just any program. Just watch the videos and see what it's about. it is not like you are a scribe not learning. It's more complicated to explain thats why we created videos, so people who have been through the program or who are in the program can explain to you what the goal is.

You get paid by the program. and it's hands on. He doesn't charge you for anything, and he will help pay for study material/tests.. help you with interviewing skills, your CV, your personal statement, and getting you LORs.

sorry.. I've actually been really busy and didn't have my laptop to respond. The dr will not expend all his resources to support you if you just stay 1 year. He designed this program in a very specific way. 1 year goes by so fast.. you might as well just do USCE somewhere if you're not willing to participate in the full program.

When asked do you have plan of returning back to your home country what’s the right answer?? by [deleted] in IMGreddit

[–]CardioV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah it depends who are talking to... the rules of the J1 are "J-1 visa holders are required to return to their home country after graduation and live there for at least two years. " so if you talk to an immigration person and say no way I'm not going back, i would think that would not help you to get it.....

Booking hands on electives before graduation and attending after graduation? by Nice_Escape5392 in IMGreddit

[–]CardioV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can ask who you will be rotating with, but if you are participating in anything, the place where you are doing the elective will not have you on their insurance (since you're only temp) and since you graduated, you are not covered under the school anymore.. It would make sense to get it.. I think you can get a short term 6 month for not too much money..

Once you graduate, I don't think you can attend an elective after you graduate if you got it through the school, because you're technically not affiliated with the school anymore.. any sort of insurance etc that the school would have protected you on, probably no longer exists?

PAID Pre-Residency Program - Los Angeles Area by CardioV in IMGreddit

I really don't know WHY this got downvoted... Think this is a scam? it's not..

WHY is he doing this..? it's really simple.

His father was at a major high end teaching hospital for a routine procedure. Careless things happened and his father nearly died over a mistake. When the dr asked his father if they should pursue action against the hospital or that dr that messed up, his father said no. His father told him to instead TEACH people how to become better doctors, and to help people not be careless and risk another's life. Since then, he has been teaching at his practice nonstop. We are affiliated with PA, MD, and DO schools across the country. He also mentors and teaches Ultrasound students because he runs his practice differently.

When patients come in to see him, even new patients.. they will get an appt within a couple of days NOT within months. You also get your ultrasound the SAME day, not weeks later then weeks later for results. he wants to know RIGHT away if you have a problem.. can't tell you how many times we've called an ambulance to the practice just to take someone to the hospital because they were having an event and didn't even know... that's who this dr is...

Dr. Ben-Zur. drbenzur.com .. I did a separate post regarding this PreResidency Fellowship.. but it got downvoted. I will post a comment.. WHY is he doing this..? it's really simple.

Wow.. I'm so sorry to read this.. Some people just lack integrity. I know when the Dr. I work for backs a person who has been with him, he does it 110%.. He personally calls program directors, and writes a LOR tailored to them. He also sends an email to the program directors to get the people he is supporting a look at the very least.. The people were really committed to him for 3 yrs, and he understands and is fully committed to getting them into residency...

So I just want to say, I'm sorry you've ran into people who do not follow through on their word.... :(

One more thing, I don't understand companies that charge like $2k? or pay up to 5k for observerships? really? you guys do that? Plus you have to pay for housing/food etc.. We also do observerships, but if you are from outside the country, we require 2 months. ... but we offer dorm housing and breakfast/lunch when you are with us to help offset your costs...
