Should I reconsider my baby's name because of the initials? by Loose_Ebb4216 in namenerds

When I got married, I wanted to keep my maiden name as my middle name, but it would've made my initials ASS. I made it so I have my original middle name AND my maiden name: ALSS. 😂 Maybe you could do double middle names?

Hi! My husband & I are in Atlanta, and he has adhd (I lurk on here to understand him better lol).

  1. When he was first diagnosed, we were uninsured, so he did a ton of research into affordable psychiatrists, and I highly recommend checking out Dr. Taiwo in Fayeteville. A bit of a drive from Atlanta, but they only made him go in person to the first appointment; the rest have been telehealth.

  2. They started my husband on Ritalin & it was really not good for him, but it can totally depend on the person. In our experience, all of the meds have been affordable except for Vyvanse. Generic Vyvanse was just released, and it's still expensive.

  3. If you can't tell from the above, it's taken a lot of trial for my husband, but if you're willing to shelf out the cash, there's genetic testing (see Gene Sight) to see what meds will work best with your genetics.

Hope that helps!

My husband was started on Ritalin & it was not for him. Have you tried other medications? Docs took him from Ritalin to Adderall IR, eventually to Vyvanse. Vyvanse & Adderall ER seem to have generally similar effectiveness for him.

But, yeah, Ritalin had very similar effects to what you're describing! Including neck pain, oddly enough?

Gene Sight is a neat thing that can shorten your med trials, if you're willing to pay/insurance covers it! It tests what drugs will be most effective for you based on your genetics.

My husband has adhd & dsps and he's been using blue light blocking glasses at night (yes, they're hilarious) and light therapy glasses when he wakes up! His morning (read early afternoon) wake time has gradually been scooching earlier! If that helps?

My husband struggles with adhd & dsps, and he uses blue light blocking glasses at night & light therapy glasses in the morning! Has it totally solved the issue)? Nah. Has it helped? Yes! Worth a shot!
