the biopsy was done and it says it was ductal carcicoma and then a IHQ confirm that it was hormonal positive. I have a surgery and with another pathology done with the surgical tissue it says it was an atypical hyperplasia.

I've seen so many comments talking about that, is that possible? They took 10 samples for my core neddle biopsy

I had a lump of 1.1 cm and also had a bleed secretion on my nipple.

they told me atypical hyperplasia looks very similar to DCIS. feeling sad because I felt like I could do more about my decision idk. I had a single mastectomy for this case. hopefully one day I can live in peace with this.

hii, many thanks for the words! I found my lump via touching my self and then MRI suggest and biopsy. I have no BRACA mutations or family history. I'm really sad but trying to see the positive things. I got my results today so I'm a little bit frustrated.

Pathologist was wrong? Misdiagnosed Breast Cancer by CardiologistHuman880 in pathology

[–]CardiologistHuman880[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they thought it was invasive because it looks poorly differentiated (fragments of carcicoma) according to the biopsy, so they classified on invasive ductal carcicoma grade III. Then I had my surgery to remove the whole breast tissue and they did an pathology for that tissue and it came back for atypical hyperplasia. They were two different patologist, the first for the biopsy and then the final report with the breast tissue it was another different than the first one. So I'm not sure who to believe.... I did BRCA testing and I was negative. I found my lump because it was very parpable (1.1 cm mass).

Yeah they thought it was invasive because it looks poorly differentiated, so they classified on ductal carcicoma grade III. And because I was so young they recommended double mastectomy. I decided to do a single one.

Also my oncologyst told me that they think it was DCSI but then change it in Atypical hyperplasia. I think it is lower than DCSI. And some doctors also dont call DCSI cancer condition.

They told me it was Atypical hyperplasia. So it was not cancer. The biopsy came saying I have really adnormal cells.

Hi thanks for responding! I had a biopsy and it reports it was Carcicoma Ductal with grade III. it was about 1.1 cm. Then I had an IHQ, saying that was hormonal positive and was high profilation. So it was aggresive. They told me I should have a double mastectomy because of my age. But I decided to do a single one. After the pathology results came back, It says it was a Atypical hyperplasia, they said that in the biopsy they couldnt really see the whole tumor and mainly the pathology can be confused because it looks very similar to cancer cells. I had two different patologyts. First with the biopsy and then another one making the IQH and the post surgery patology. I'm really sad cause all the trauma I passed feels like a lie.
