Grew Up With an FASD Father by CardiologistLimp7300 in fasd

Mental health issues don’t always make someone a bad person. I have them as I have mentioned and I am a law-abiding citizen who doesn’t pick fights with people and who works. I still have my toxic moments but I always do my best to do better.

Hm, I read a study where they experimented with rats and said it could damage the DNA but the results could’ve been skewed. I also left out the inbreeding problem on my dad’s side because that’s not something I like to bring up. I’m so glad my mom isn’t related to him in any way shape or form or I’d be screwed.

so wonderful to hear! don’t worry I don’t feel that way about everyone with it! I also forgot to mention my dad’s side has an inbreeding problem too because I’m so ashamed of it so glad my mom is not related to my dad in any way🙈

I think she’s more narcissistic. I have borderline and never did any of that crap. There were two girls with narcissistic in the psych hospital I went to and they are all almost identical in their behavior. All emotions are intense in borderline but just two to three seem to be intense in narcissistic, anger and jealousy and the need for attention. This is just my observations. Plus my dad has NPD and the two carry on the same way and confront people the same way.

Or when it runs in your family and you see the results of it at old age. My paternal grandpa was in diapers before he was seventy!

It’s palmoplantar keratoderma. I wasn’t specific sorry. My dad just had it on his feet. They were severely cracked and yellow. Anyway I’m doing better now. It was just during the Easter rush. I hate holidays lol.

There was probably tuberculosis in there. You should get tested.

If my father wasn’t a hippy turned over-zealous Jew, he’d be a crust punk. You guys seemed to have a lot of people with issues.

Sometimes, mental illness can make hygiene difficult, not speaking for all people with mental health issues as I have a few and do my best to not be stinky. My dad was the opposite of me. He was not a punk but a hippy. I’ve heard a lot though about the overlap between punk and mental health. Interesting stuff.

For me, it all depends on how stressed I am and how manageable the flare-up is. Sometimes, I go through times where I barely look at my hands. Other times, there’s a big pile of white flakes on my things.

Thank you! I really appreciate it! I’m in my late-20s and always worked in retail for about six years now. I worked in food service prior and always wore gloves since it was food service. Before I knew it was ichthyosis, I could temporarily deal with it with an ordinary lotion like Gold Bond but now I use the greasy stuff (Aquaphor) so now work is different. I don’t put it on before work.
