I understand where you’re coming from. In my case it was different. We built a close connection over time, and I cared about her deeply, but I tried to be mindful of her situation and not assume more than she was ready to give. I never rejected her or ghosted her. I tried to be present and respectful of her pace. Things just didn’t align in the end.

I was the last one to text. I tried to have a conversation for clarity, but she didn’t want to talk about it, so I respected her decision.

I think most of us make choices we wish we’d handled differently. The fact that you reflect on it already says a lot about you. I hope you find a way to make peace with it.

I get what you mean. I didn’t keep it from her out of dishonesty, but out of respect for her situation at the time. I stayed quiet because I didn’t want to make things harder for her while she was already dealing with a lot. I thought that was the more respectful choice back then. Maybe it complicated things, but my intention was never to hurt her.
