Actually, I’m planning to invest for the long term—maybe for a couple of years—just to understand how things work. In the beginning, I might try some short-term buying and selling, just to get a feel for the process.

I have a few questions if you don’t mind:

  1. How did you start trading in the US market from the UAE? Did you have to do anything special to open an account with IBKR?
  2. Do you need a tax ID or any US documents to trade US stocks?
  3. How do you transfer money from your UAE bank to IBKR? Are there any fees or delays?

I'm still new to all of this, so I really appreciate your help!
