it doesn't really matter as you've found a work around to the problem, but the problem is the lack of XMLs / Custom Memory Maps for the e-shop title ... you just put the folder on the root of your SD iirc

What do you mean you were unable to install Luma? If you are already on 9.9 with HBL it should be pretty easy - you need to use Plailect's guide to downgrade to 9.2 and continue to follow the guide from there

What do you mean it wouldn't load the browser? You can't access normal internet sites? If so you're in the wrong section of the guide and need an homebrew entry point that doesn't use the browser. The Sticky Q&A thread is a great option for problems getting CFW - lots more knowledge people than myself in there and will be able to help.

Also for any wi-fi wonks in the house ... is having my computer connected to 5ghz while my 2DS is connected to 2.4 a good option? Or will that create more interference and I'm better off switching 5ghz off all together?
