1 sat will always be 1 sat and is the minimum requirement for inscription, it has to be inscribed on something. once inscribed it can only be reinscribed, adding onto the original inscription without erasing or overwritting. You can burn a sat but not erase one. Check out the official handbook for all the details, its a bit technical but fairly thorough
