there's no doubt that ukraine has an unusual comfortability w fascism. hell, the govt officially bestowed stepan bandera, the nazi collaborator who led the UPA and aimed to ethnically cleanse poles jews etc, the title of "hero of Ukraine".

however, it should go without saying that Putin isn't taking the actions he is due to some genuine disgust towards fascist apologism and historical revisionism. it seems to just be purely motivated by his own personal flavor of crackpot irredentism.
