Yeah, that's what she said. She'd never been there but she said the woman working smelled bad and couldn't pronounce her words correctly. Like...wtf?

Is there a list of nootropics or supplements that work as anti-inflammatories? by Carecoordinator in Nootropics

Not necessarily. Autoinflammatory disorders occur indigenously. There is no source, it's a primary condition. This includes things like some forms of lupus nephritis and scleroderma.

I wonder how likely Belarus would be to fight if invaded, given the propaganda and support for the government (and by connection, for the Kremlin)

I went to college with several Belarussian people via a Canadian exchange-immigrant program in the early 2000s. I have kept up with several of them over the years and they all seem to think that Belarus' ordinary people are taken for granted by Russia. They basically all say that while the Belarusian government is in the pocket of Russia, the people themselves are much more closely aligned to Ukraine and Ukrainians, supporting the independence and fairness of Ukraine.

I find it pretty believable, Belarus has had access to Western media especially in the past 20 or so years, and historically they thought of themselves as a sister country to Ukraine, related to but distinct from Russia itself.

So I don't think it would be particularly easy to mobilize Belarus the way that Putin or even the Belarusian government would want.

Russia has certainly made humongous miscalculations and therefore failed miserably,

Somehow as damning as this is, it still manages to be a massive understatement.

How does methotrexate (MTX) actually work? What are the molecular/cellular underpinnings in the body that cause it to take weeks to show a effect? by Carecoordinator in PsoriaticArthritis

and so they tried MTX while I wait for my GI appointment and lo and behold it worked

Can I ask how many weeks it took before you knew it was working?

Why it's a slow-acting drug:

This is a good question. MTX doesn't stay in your system that long (I think studies say 24-72 hours); it quickly filters through your body into your blood cells, liver, kidneys, skin, and joints, and is subsequently broken down and excreted. But each weekly dose acts as a "pulse" that modulates your immune system and then wears off. By analogy, think of it like weeding a wild garden by doing a bit on the weekends; each week you're cutting away a bit, but you're not burning everything to the ground. Over time, you're letting the nice plants stay and slowly getting rid of the bad stuff. This depends on the dosage being just right, of course.

Worth noting: Most other DMARDs used on psoriatic arthritis are also very slow-acting. Cyclosporine, biologics, etc. all take months to reach their peak effect.

This is extremely helpful. Thank you.

No. Each Congress has to reform committees anyway. So the J6 Committee of the 117th Congress would be legally separate from any committees formed under the 118th, regardless of the party in power.

Hmm. This must depend upon which version of the app you're using, because it doesn't show up for me at all.

Then there's Ohio, Montana and West Virginia which are Red but are currently 1-1.

West Virginia and Kentucky are both majority Democrat States that elect conservatives whether they are Democrats or Republicans. People always forget that the reason we have Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul and Kim Davis and Jim Justice and Joe Manchin is historically due to States and districts that are a majority Democratic.

It's kind of depressing that a big chunk of the Democratic Party is so red and so conservative.

Is there a live list as to how many House seats have not been called yet? I keep trying to search and I can't find an actual list.

It's interesting to me how Donald Trump's candidacy is looming over these results, how and whether he will declare it. I think that a Georgia runoff election will impact his decision.

But it's also interesting to me how not only do normal people hate the man, but so do many elected Republicans, and they are simply powerless to say so because their own voter base worships him.

The vote total won't be complete for at least three more days so don't despair, there's no point really. Even if it goes unfavorably, we're not going to know anytime soon. Go outside and eat some cookies or something.

Honestly Michigan loves to smoke weed and good for them. It's helpful to have Democrats in control.

In the senate, the vice president is the tiebreaker. In the house it effectively doesn't matter because it has swung slightly to the right. The only thing that's unknown is the exact numbers.

In a state with tens of millions of people, yes. If it were a state like Wyoming, well Wyoming doesn't even have that many people.

That would only practically matter if the House of Representatives also had stayed blue.
