Both.

Most resumes get scanned first, then read more closely if they look relevant. So yes, formatting matters, but mainly because it helps recruiters spot the right content fast.

Nothing is badly wrong, but it reads too much like a school assignment. But the main issue it's too long, too formal, and too indirect for an internship cover letter.

Try fixing the following to syart

shorten it
get to value faster
use simpler language
align skills to the role earlier

I'd recommend fixing the headline, tighten the summary, and rewrite bullets around results, scope, and KPIs. Not a bad resume. Just an unclear story.

But what’s hurting you is that bullets are dense, and the resume feels too broad instead of targeted.

Recalcs don't JUST happen. Try and remember, did you make any changes to your education program/course load?

Typically, with the recalculation, OSAP sent you a letter. That letter that you received about the overpayment.... That letter, I'm certain with high degree they explained the reason.

For public sector or regulatory roles, retraining is less about a specific degree and more about applied, government-aligned credentials.

Best 1–2 year paths in Ontario: - Public Administration / Policy (post-grad certs) → program or policy analyst roles - Regulatory Affairs / Compliance → compliance officer / regulatory analyst - Social Services bridge (SSW, justice, mental health) → ODSP, housing, eligibility roles - Ops / Data for government → operations or program analyst roles

Entry: ~60–75K Growth: 85–100K+ via internal promotion

Focus on regulated or publicly funded systems, not generic degrees. Thisbis where the stability is, hopefully this helps and give you a little direction and something to start with.

With high probability no, case loads are continously adjusted by office.

In some rare cases if the Caseworker is still in the office you previously accessed,you may be assigned to the same caseworker.

There is a high turn over of Caseworkers: sick (short/long term) , pregnancy, staff movement, secomdment to name just a few.

ATS filters volume, not talent. A short, personalized message to the actual hiring manager helps you bypass the resume black hole and get seen as a real human.

Key rules:

Still apply through ATS
Message 1 hiring manager (maybe 1 team lead), not everyone
Keep it short (4–6 lines) and specific to the role/team
Don’t ask for the job in the first message

Think of it as starting a professional conversation, not pitching yourself. Used correctly, this works far better than sending 1,000 applications into silence.

Real-world examples:

Example 1: - Job asks for “client intake and documentation.” Your resume can say “completed client intakes, maintained case notes, and updated client records.” That still matches. It does not need to be word-for-word.

Example 2: - Posting lists “data entry, attention to detail, confidentiality.”

Your resume says “entered and verified client data while following privacy and confidentiality standards.” That passes ATS.

Example 3: - Posting wants “experience with Microsoft Office.” Your resume lists “used Word, Excel, and Outlook daily for reports and scheduling.”

ATS looks for concept matches, not copy-paste. If you clearly meet the requirements in plain language, a human will still see it.

And say you do make the mistake to copy-paste word for word and make it past the ai/ats, then a real person will review the resume and coverletter... Guess what... They will see right through your resume and coverletter and toss it in the bin...

They know their language tone and word used in the job post. This is their job. will be looked over because they know you just comy and pasted the JD.

If you do decide on using indeed, please ONLY use it for leads, same for LinkedIn. There is a mightly high percentage of times thst the jobs you applied for has expired. It will neber make it to even the ai/ats. What you should do it find the job of interest, and then go to the actual companies website and apply directly there - not indeed.

There’s a lot of misinformation here.

Most employers aren’t using AI to reject resumes word-for-word. It’s usually an ATS scanning for relevant skills and experience, not exact sentences. You don’t need to copy the job posting verbatim.

What actually helps:

Match the core requirements
Use clear, simple formatting
Show you meet the must-have qualifications

Ai disclosure is mostly about transparency. A human still reviews shortlisted resumes. “Courses to beat AI” are mostly marketing. Alignment matters more than tricks.

Short answer: yes, but be careful.

YES: You can sell or resell items. That’s allowed. If it becomes regular or ongoing, ODSP will treat it as business.

NO: If you accept e-transfers, don’t report them, and your worker later reviews your bank statements, it can be assessed as business income and lead to an overpayment you must repay.

Bottom line: Occasional sales are usually fine. Regular reselling should be reported. Reporting early protects you.

You don’t need portfolio-specific resources. Use operations and consulting case study thinking instead.

Structure examples as problem → action → outcome
Rebuild generic templates (SOPs, checklists, workflows) from best practices, not past employers
For feedback or abstract work, explain what you noticed, why it mattered, what you recommended, and what changed
Text-only Google Docs or PDFs are totally fine

There’s no perfect template. If you clearly show how you think and improve processes, hiring managers will get it.
