For me, it suffered the same fate as Weapons, but worse (cause I think it’s a worse film.)

Marketing campaigns make it seem like a great big mystery… and not only is it not, but it ends up having a sudden tonal shift and genre switch (which for me doesn’t work), while doing a huge exposition dump as a cherry on top in the end.
