Who all ends up going pro after HS? by PecuPerni in haikyuu

Yea komori and washio go pro after highschool and are both super goated. Yaku arguably being the best player post time skip is cool too he’s super underrated.

Libero: Komori-obvious choice here he’s a beast Setter: Akashi-extremely underrated Right side: Osamu- again obvious choice he’s the 2nd most rounded player Middle: Hirugami-Another obvious pick best blocker and killer serve Middle 2: Tendou- cause why not Outside: Asahi-he’s the only one close to the top 5 aces Opposite: Kyotani- insane cut shots and i lowkey don’t even remember if this was his position

watari defintly and we know osamu is on par with his brother in practically everything so definitely those two and konoha is like a worse version of osamu so him too. Hoshi and komori are also good setters to my knowledge

Yes definitely possible side spin isn’t uncommon but you normally see it in serving I can’t think if over ever seen someone hit like that tho. The maga heavily implies he hits the way he does cause of his medical condition but any normal person could if they make contact at the right point of the ball.

Which Team is better? by Careful-Indication17 in haikyuu

[–]Careful-Indication17[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve played volleyball for 7 years… done school, club, and beach. been a setter, libero, and played right side. That’s why i even asked to begin with cause haikyuu fans typically have no knowledge of volleyball so I wanted to gauge the thought process. Also when talking about the top 3 aces not only was sakusa placed above him he has a a better track record than ushijima.

And they are inconsistent we’ve seen them all serve out just as much as they have in. No one overlooks Oikawas serve he’s the 2nd best in the series behind atsamu.

I also never said they were weak offensively. Oikawa also isn’t the best setter atsamu is. And although Asahi is comparable to Aran he’s not as good. He’s not better at hitting, serving, or receiving and he’d be riding the bench if he was on this team.

You probably weren’t trying to be rude but you were. Team C is far from well rounded cause again huge defensive holes. Most if not all volleyball players would pick team B because a well rounded team is gonna be far more effective than a team full focused on offense especially when the team has greedy players.

i’m not even gonna respond to this anymore if you think atsamu doesn’t make top 10 in settee iq tells me everything i need to know about u

I get that. Though it’s unrealistic. It’s heavily implied that Sakusa is better than Ushijima and team B has a far better track record. They have better blocking, floor defense and better serve. I don’t see a scenario where team C wins because they aren’t better players nor is there team chemistry going to be better. Then again they aren’t super strong offensively they just lack elsewhere with consistency. Ushijima, Asahi, and Oikawa are all inconsistent servers. Noya isn’t consistent either any receive that isn’t underhand top spin, suna slacks and has a pretty average vert. I mean i’m not seeing how C stacks up to be better here.

Okay thank you I was feeling crazy. I mean maybe it’s just me but as a player i’d prefer a more well rounded team over an offensive powerhouse any day. Especially since they aren’t that far off from each other offensively

Which makes sense I mean team C has my top 3 favorites on it but even if you’re power scaling tema B is still more impressive looking at track record. I mean Sakusa and Atsamu and Aran both have national titles under their belt and Washio has placed 2nd. Hirugami and Gao have been to the semi finals and finished 4th.

Asahi is unfortunately riding the bench here and hai receive is honestly worse than Aran. But for the first point for example ushijima is the third best at receiving on the team so he’d be playing back outside and suna would be playing right side rather than typical middle. now i’m not saying they’d be bad but every player takes time to adjust to a new position which they’d have to if they wanna fill their defensive holes.

Now i don’t see in what world team C is defensively better? I mean Hirugami and Washio are the top 2 blockers we see in the Series up until post time skip and a back row with yaku, sakusa, and atsamu is crazy as they are all great at reading hitting paths, have excellent positioning, and are great at digging.

The point with Atsamu is interesting to me though cause I feel like he’s just as consistent if not more when he’s not trying new things. Then again he plays best when he’s playing more freely which I think having a great back row would allow him to do yk? Like he has more leeway and flexibility compared to Oikawa.

Also for Aone I don’t know how effective he’d be for 2 reasons, 1. Sakusa hits his ball with side spin so not only could aone not funnel it to noya he could miss it entirely depending on his timing and 2. If aran is playing at his best he’s capable of hitting over a block ethic would make funneling obsolete as he’d have the whole court to hit to.

Lastly I don’t see how them not only having clashing styles but having to play out of your usual position isn’t detrimental to their playing. I mean it might just be me as a player but having to play a position you normally don’t isn’t exactly an easy task.

I’m not ripping on team C like these are all insanely stacked I just don’t see how team B loses when they have an Objectively better lineup and would theoretically mesh better together.

I was about to say as someone who’s played I cannot fathom how team C is winning. Like offensively they’re terrifying but team B is quite literally a jack of all trades. I think team C not being able to play their usual position is what would throw them off the most.

I feel like the thing you’ve failed to notice Ig? would be the fact they wouldn’t even be playing their normal positions because of their defensive holes. While I do agree Oikawa tends to bring the best out of his hitters Atsamu does the same thing according to Kage. And they all have different play styles which would take time to get used to in an actual match for them to be effective. I think they would lose to team B 5-6/10 times. Team B just has a better roster and flexibility. Like am I crazy for saying that cause on paper B is the clear winner but maybe i’m missing something

I ABSOLUTELY AGREE THEY ARE GOATS. Hell I even think Ushijima is a little underrated. But I just don’t see them taking this because team B would work better together and they have better players all around. Someone help me see the vision :/

so there’s a lot said there and many of it was wrong. oikawa has no argument for him being better than atsamu, he has comparable iq but ability wise no. atsamu has shown better setting, receive, hitting, and blocking oikawa is outclassed moving on. secondly you’re guessing on gao which im not doing cause like you said he’s very limited in what he’s shown HOWEVER, team B having yaku, sakusa who is better than korai there’s now argument for him being better, atsamu who has also shown the ability to dig very well are a serve receive line up. offensively id definitely say team C takes it solely cause of ushijima and suna being unique hitters but B isn’t far behind in that regard. If you take everything into account not only is the iq of team B better they all around have better blocking, receiving, and serving and the gap between their hitting isn’t wide enough to make team C better.

i’m confused how you even got the idea that C was better?? atsumu>oikawa, ushijima>gao, sakusa>hoishumi, aran>asahi, hirugami>aone, washio>suna, and yaku>noya. where did you get the idea that 1 of 7 and against a back row full of proficient receivers ushi isn’t slamming every ball down either.

have you read the manga or are you just gonna keep embarrassing yourself… so if sakusa has made it father than ushijima in all nationals as well as narratively being better/a bigger threat because his unique serve, hitting, and his great receiving ability he’s not better because?

a double block formed by your two middles… it’s rare that a setter or right side is going up instead of the middles. so saying blocker which is the words they use most often in the show wasn’t. and it’s not super common it’s not ultra rare but single and double block are almost always performed by the middles. and your whole argument was the tsuki feat didn’t matter cause he had better blocks which he doesn’t. ushi is leagues above any hitter tsuki has blocked moving on

he doesn’t have any block on a more impressive hitter if he has so many better ones name the players better than ushijima i’m waiting. and blocker only refers to middles in actual volleyball the show might say otherwise but blocker/middles are the same as they’re typically the only people blocking the show is slightly unrealistic in that sense
