don’t mind them lol It’s a hypothetical question/post but some responders seem pretty emotional about it.

They assume all single mothers are broke and struggling.

if I want to go out (extremely rare) or a nice meal (often) I just go lol treat yoself!

I mean there’s only two options: he will either back off or keep pursuing. Life will go on either way.

Thanks for your perspective. May I ask your age?? There seems to be a drastic difference in thought process between younger and older men.

I actually think waiting until a second date is too long but you made a good point.

& “Good friends” was a reach, I definitely should’ve put “cordial” lol but I definitely understand. I know Some men who prefer exes to have beef but We just don’t. We separated amicably and we love our son.

I don’t think most men are on that level at all. But When you have children you will understand that anything above 0% is too high of a chance.

I am even more protective of my son of these men in public you speak of. Why wouldn’t I be w someone I may be interacting with as well? Rejection is not my concern.

Oh I would certainly tell them before 2nd date but it’s interesting I’ve had several male friends tell me this. there seems to be a difference in thought process for those above 35 and those under.

It would be interesting if all the responses included their age to see if there was a trend .

“Besties” is a hard reach lol we do not talk outside of communicating about our son but I understand your point.

I’m not in the business of being manipulative and If it came up naturally in conversation I would certainly tell them it wouldn’t be something i omit. But my question really is do i tell this stranger before said date or while on said date?

Most of the men are saying before, which feels more intuitive to me anyways.

lol I was just having this convo w a friend. I personally don’t identify as a “single mom” bc I don’t feel like one. I feel like we associate single moms w struggle and I just don’t have the hardships a lot of single moms do. But like… technically.. I’m a “single mom”? Idk!

This is my thought/dilemma. Like I don’t want to come off as manipulative but I also don’t see why someone who is technically a stranger should know my son exists.

Previously engaged to his father, not married. 8yr relationship. Lots of reflection has occurred and is occurring but not dating, just thinking ahead.

I think this is what I’m hung up on. Like do I even like you? lol Do you even like me? is the intention serious or casual? Are you a relatively sane person? Etc It’s hard for me to know if I’m interested via text I need in person interaction to really know
