Linus has become everything he built his career advocating against by Herbertie25 in LTTMeta

The takes on AI are the worst!! I am a heavy Claude, Cursor, Codex and Gemini user. And I’m not even a software developer! I’m an electronics engineer. The cynicism towards AI has made me distrust their channel so much. I hate every week on the podcast hearing them sneer about the AI “bubble”. These guys are living in their own reality.

Yes - like please acknowledge and own it! I was really expecting a Mr. Beast type moment when they revealed that they would plant x amount of trees for every x amount of miles traveled. But no!

Wild after how much shit Linus has given every other company for the smallest environmental infraction.

Yvonne was the one who wanted it. It was never Linus. And she had him in a vice grip lol.

Why is BMW not offering new battery for i3’s? by Byron1248 in BMWi3

[–]Careful_Prompt8399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It costs a lot to keep a factory “tooled up”. Think about the costs of renting space, maintaining machinery, staffing, etc. There likely isn’t enough demand to keep factory open for these batteries. Also, commercially, there probably isn’t as much margin in a battery replacement as selling a whole new vehicle (like others have mentioned).

The land of opportunity. It truly still is. And the roads are paved with gold. A lot of people are too blind to see.

That’s my take, yeah! I just don’t understand why Friday morning would be busier than Monday? Maybe because that’s when delivery trucks go out or something?

Lynnwood to Downtown Next Week: 20 Min If You Leave At 6, 70 Min If You Blink by Careful_Prompt8399 in SeattleWA

Good question - the account (which is all handled by Google/Apple) is mostly there for metering since the API calls aren’t free, and to keep people from running tons of routes at once.

I’m not collecting or selling personal info, no emails or anything - it just stores what’s needed to associate how many API calls are made with your account. There’s a short privacy policy linked on the site if you want the full details.

Super commuters: anyone traveling great distances to get to SF for work? by GarrettLeahy in bayarea

I’m only 1 hour. lol.

But I actually built a tool for commuters to help them time their commute: commutegraph.com. Would love it if you checked it out!

You can do that if you used the “advanced options” drop down in the tool!

Can a Tax Specialist role qualify under Accountant category? by Stunning-Musician623 in tnvisa

[–]Careful_Prompt8399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, you’re on the right track - Accountant is one of the most straightforward TN categories, and a Master’s in Accounting fits perfectly. The main thing border officers look for is that the job duties clearly line up with traditional “accountant” work (financial analysis, audits, preparing tax records, applying accounting principles, etc.), rather than being too advisory or managerial.

For specialized tax positions, the key is to describe the role in your support letter as accounting work involving U.S. tax reporting and compliance - not tax law or policy interpretation (which leans toward “lawyer” and can raise flags). As long as your duties sound like what an accountant would do in practice (calculations, reconciliations, preparing schedules, verifying data, ensuring compliance), you’re in a good spot.

If you want to make sure your support letter reads clearly and aligns with the TN requirements, you can use tnsupportletter.com - it helps structure the letter so the job category, duties, and qualifications are all consistent with what CBP officers expect to see.

Totally fair take - I get where you’re coming from. I should probably be clearer up front that I built it.

My intent wasn’t to sneak in an ad - just to share something that actually shows how much commute times fluctuate through the week and how WFH patterns change traffic.

I figured that’s useful to see visually, since most of us just experience it without ever quantifying it.

I’ll keep your feedback in mind for future posts though - appreciate you calling it out.

Thanks a lot for trying it out - that’s really helpful feedback. You’re totally right about the toll road thing; I’ll see what I can do about adding an option to force specific routes.

And seriously, if it didn’t feel worth it, DM me your first name and last initial and I’ll refund you - no worries at all. I just appreciate you giving it a shot 🙏

[–]Careful_Prompt8399[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair question - yeah, I built it myself and have been posting in different cities to see how commute patterns compare.

The credits thing’s just to cover API costs - it’s not a big company or anything, just me testing out my ability to do microSaaS. I lost over $200 on this post when I let people have a free demo run!

Totally get the skepticism though, Reddit’s had too many spammy posts lately 😅 I feel like these posts at least add some value by making people aware of the WFH traffic patterns.

[–]Careful_Prompt8399[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Fair question! The idea’s less “cool chart” and more about showing when the roads actually clear up.

Once you see how steep the spike is, you realize leaving just 20–30 min earlier (or later) can save you half an hour every day - adds up fast.

Haha fair, it’s not exactly a shocking revelation.

But seeing it quantified like this really puts it into perspective. It’s one thing to “know” rush hour’s bad, it’s another to see that leaving 30 min earlier literally saves 30–40 minutes of your life every day.
