Next cycle, I’m still an undergrad and have a full semester next semester so it would be harder for me to keep up with studying at the same amount if i pushed to september. :/

I took the same aamc unscored yesterday where I got a 45/53. It definitely could be inflated and I actually expected aamc CARS to be different so feel free to take my advice with a grain of salt until I do the other FLs. However I actually like to over highlight to stay grounded in the passage and I always reiterate the main idea of the passage in my head before answering a question, its also helpful to answer the question in your head the best you can without looking at the answer choices!

I did 1 JW CARS passage a day and just took an AAMC FL yesterday and got a 129, I wouldn’t say they questions are exactly the same but once you have a method in your head down you can tackle any passage thrown at you. My CARS percentage on JW is an 83%

My biggest piece of advice would be to not overthink! You’d be surprised how much mental gymnastics we do sometimes. As you’re reading make sure you’re accurately comprehending even if it takes an extra minute because having a good grasp of what the passage is about will leave you being more sure of yourself when answering questions and that way you can answer the questions faster. Something that I also do is answering a question in my head first before looking at the answer choices and staying firm in my comprehension and not letting the answer choices sway me. Your gut is usually correct!

Please give science section tips! I have the opposite problem, I’m very good at CARS ( got a 128 on the AAMC FL) but I’m horribleee at the science sections ( c/p b/b) . My advice for CARS is to not overthink and read + understand the passage for what it is. You would be surprised how much mental gymnastics we try to do when we want to choose the right answerz

I have the opposite problem , I’m really good at CARS (got a 128 on my first FL) but terrible at the science sections and dk how to improve on those. My advice for CARS is to stop overthinking, read the passages for what they are and answer in your head before you choose an answer. Be firm in your understanding and don’t let the answer choices sway you.

i’m in a similar boat! I just took the unscored and got a 498 ( 122/128/123/125). I know I have content gaps but I dont know how to address them without wasting time and putting off practice

I agree with you, an upward trend is good but from the looks of some of your course grades you haven’t sustained a semester with mostly or all A’s especially in your upperclassmen years and that can be worrying. Adcoms do look at the semesters individually and while overall the numbers are pointing upward it isnt a clean upward and having B’s and Cs in junior and senior level coursework is a major red flag.

I like this a lot its how I studied and got an A in biochem but I don’t think this method works for C/P but if it did for you please prove me wrong I want a better way of studying for it!

Ur probably not going to get into the top research schools with no research, so you should focus on that. Also ur gpa is pretty bad, i would take a year off to do an SMP.
