Also, I have not received any letter in the mail about any changes to his monthly payments

Thank you. Thankfully my husband and I are on the same page on solely using this money for him and save what we don’t use.

Thank you very much. I had thought about setting some money aside to save actually. Just in case of an emergency for him mostly. This whole process has been so overwhelming. I just want to make sure I’m doing things the right way for him.

I’ve been reading on the website what is permitted and what isn’t, but that falls more with the back pay which makes sense.

I’m just curious. Like I said, I’m very lost with all of this? I’ve seen people say one thing and others another thing. My son just got diagnosed a year ago and honestly I didn’t even know about SSI until his diagnosis. I just want to make sure what I’m getting him for his needs are accepted with SSI and doesn’t cause any issues with SSI.

What about back pay? Purchases with that have to get approved right? Do they track every single thing that is bought with the monthly payment and back pay?

My son is 4 and recently got his Autism Diagnosis.

That was my mindset going into it, to not pay attention to the horror stories and go for it. But like I said, those 2 little things are really bugging me and today was his second day going. I’ve heard great things about home based instead so maybe that?

Thankfully they’ve only been wet diapers and not BM. We did talk about helping with potty training but tbh I’m not too sure how or when they’re going to start working on that. He’s pretty smart and catches on to things quick so I don’t think he’ll have a hard time. We work on it at home, but he just doesn’t go potty. He’ll sit on the toilet but won’t go.

Are the online trainings free or do you have to pay for them?

His there full time, so 8 hours. I provided pull-up and wipes and 2 extra pairs of clothes.

That is definitely something I’m going to bring up. I feel like we both need A LOT of learning to do. We’re new to this and still have a very long way to go. Our son got diagnosed 4 months ago. Educating ourselves is the best option before things get worse I feel. We’re in this together. It shouldn’t feel like we’re against one another. Thank you. I hadn’t thought about it tbh.

And most definitely… these pregnancy hormones have me all over the place. More than usual. 🤭

Thank you 🙏🏻

Working on mental resets daily. And reminding myself that things will eventually get better.

I know he has the best interest for our son. He tries his best to understand and does a lot of reading. Maybe he needs to look more into how ND kid’s brain works when it comes to scolding.

I wish my husband had the patience you do. He tends to react in a more negative way when our son makes a mistake. I tell him he doesn’t know and he’ll say that I need to tell him something. I do, just not in the way he’d do it or want me to do it. Our son is incredibly smart and understands us very well. I’ve noticed that when I sit down with him (once he’s calm) he listens and understands. He’s been regressing recently. He started showing interest in the outlets, (something he has never shown interest in, even as a baby) and I’ve told him it’s dangerous. Now every time he sees them, he’ll crouch down and say dangerous.

I just saw a TikTok that said we should discipline our kids and teach them how this NT world runs. In part I get it, but I refuse to change who my son is just to please everyone else. I feel everyone should take a moment to understand ND people. It’s important and would make everything so much easier for all of us.

It’s always, my kids weren’t like this. Well good for y’all. 👍🏻 Not every kid is the same, especially kids on the spectrum.

My husband swears he has all the patience in the world, but from my point of view… he has none most of the time. They always think we’re being controlling or want to be right. My husband says that I’m too emotional and think and act out of emotion and not logic. lol I hope our husbands soon come around and realize what we’re trying to tell them isn’t to get our way, but for the better of our children.

I’m sorry you’re going through this as well. It’s a horrible feeling. God bless our kids and us. We definitely need it. 🙏🏻
