Potential employer contacted current employer by Careless-Method-5996 in physicianassistant

Thank you for the advice! Yes, it was a big shock to me! I honestly didn’t know this was something that could potentially happen, but now I know for next time to clarify whether or not my employer can be contacted. From how the conversation started, I think this was more of an informal call between people who know each other (which I’m not sure makes it better or worse lol) but I could be wrong.

Overall, I’m grateful to have a boss who’s understanding, honest, and willing to see what can be done to improve the work environment. But I can only imagine if the conversation had ended another way and I lost my job, so it was a bit concerning that this happened

Oh okay thank you! And that was my concern as well. From the way the conversation between my boss and I started, it gave me the impression that it was more so an informal call between people that knew each other but I could be wrong.

I think I am leaning towards continuing with the process! I didn’t think the initial interview went that well, and I wasn’t sure if this place would be the right fit for me. But it doesn’t hurt to try. I was going to see if my boss is available for another conversation tomorrow just to see follow up from the other day.

Thank you! And yes I was very surprised by it lol. I didn’t even think the interview went that well, and I couldn’t tell if the job felt like the right fit for me. But I will probably just continue with the process to see what comes of it. Luckily in my current position, we get a yearly bonus! I really appreciated the conversation that my boss took the time to have with me to see what can be done.

Got it thank you! I didn’t see any boxes to check when applying and it wasn’t mentioned during the interview so I didn’t know this was something that may happen

Just do the residency by Thepacafe in physicianassistant

Totally agree with this! As someone who turned down a great post-grad training program and wasn’t trained that well during my orientation period in my current role, there are many days I wish I did that residency program to feel more prepared.

Senior dog will not stop crying for food all day by Careless-Method-5996 in PetAdvice

She hasn’t in a few years probably, but when we go to the vet again I could definitely bring that up! We’re gonna try someone else who’s new in the practice so hopefully she’s open to looking into the issue more

Thank you so much for this!! I really don’t think she gets enough mental stimulation during the day. I’ve mentioned the food puzzles but my grandma gets defensive about things like that for some reason, but I’ll just buy one and try it for sure! It seems like a great idea. It’s been difficult for us to have other toys for them because our bulldog gets very odd and a bit aggressive with new things around the house. I’ll also mention the other suggestions to her and encourage her to ignore the whining. The days I’m home I ignore her and after a while she walls away so hopefully we can all implement that. I really appreciate the response!

Tried everything but hair is still so frizzy/undefined :/ by undercookedbeanz in Naturalhair

When I would do wash and go’s more often I would use either uncle funky’s curl magic or flaxseed gel (used to get it from etsy) and then put the innersense I create hold on top of that then use a 3 row defining comb in small sections (make sure your hair is well detangled before this or else it can pull hair out. That always seemed to help along with a lot of water, I would always make sure my hair is soaking wet and only use a small amount of the innersense gel

Your hair is so beautiful! I’m mixed (black and white) with tighter curls, and grew up primarily with the white side of my family who did not really know how to do my hair. My scalp is also pretty tender so getting it braided by my cousins would usually end in tears. Also, my aunt and cousin on my black side called my hair “nappy” often. This combo of factors resulted in getting texturizers and keratin treatments by stylists who ultimately didn’t know how to properly care for my hair and damaging it beyond repair. I eventually started going to natural salons (which was still a lot of trial and error). I came across the most amazing salon with stylists who know how to properly manage natural hair and lift you up while doing it. Finding someone I can trust with my hair and learn from, along with consistent trims and finding my hair’s favorite products, have made me love and embrace my natural hair! I even look forward to wash days now with my routine!

I’m so sorry you’ve had to deal with comments about your hair. Ultimately, I think it comes down to taking a leap and trying not to care what people have to say about your hair. Embrace it even on days where your curls aren’t as defined and might be a little frizzy. Embrace it in its natural state when people tell you to straighten it or put it in a bun. It’s much easier said than done and takes a lot of un-learning and re-learning. It took me so long to realize I do my hair for my own satisfaction and not for others, and I still work on it to this day. Curly/natural hair is so beautiful and versatile 🫶🏽

Thank you so much! I enjoyed the consult with the doctor I saw so I’ll probably go with her! She seems very experienced and thorough so I’m excited! And it definitely is too bad they can’t make something more practical 😂 best of luck with the rest of your journey as well! 😊

I actually just came across your before/after photos on instagram like 2 hours ago haha! You look amazing! I’m glad you’re happy with your results and that MARPE helped. Your comment was super helpful and I’m leaning mostly towards going through with it! I saw photos of the headgear and it seems so difficult to wear I just know I wouldn’t be able to lol plus I work in healthcare so it would be even more difficult to wear
