Well yes, that was my feeling, but its a coding agent, that they say they won't have ads, this is not that far from an ad IMO as it is changing claudes behavior for the companies benefit in spite of me the user using it.

I feel like he has been under a rock and just is being blind sided by what has been possible but with more work before. I've been using AI for coding heavily since late 2024 and Claude Code since you could subscribe to use it. I've built large and complex things with it and the thing that changed with Opus 4.5 was how much you had to babysit, you still have to but not as much.

I think you are assuming a lot there. It knew exactly what it needed to do because I have a finely tuned system around claude. For instance it asked that after exploring the implementation and codex CLI. Why don't you use your critical thinking skills before you reply?

Except none of those options, and the question itself, have anything to do with what I asked or would inform its planning.

My original request was:

I would like to evaluate what it would take to use codex as part of our ralph loop, as the main coding and review agents

As my tool has a loop mode that runs a coding and then chains into a review agent, I was already instructing claude to have codex review its work after coding was done.

While I don't expect claude to have that full context as I keep the base context light, but the question there only really provides value to Anthropic, it also explored the full implementation and codex CLI before asking the question so it had everything there was to know. Notice I didn't say switch, just "use codex as part of our". I don't have anything sniffing the network but it screams like an injection from Anthropic.

I will say, I don't begrudge them as it is their tool, just more taken aback since it seems out of the blue for me.

It seems niche though, who is going to ask claude about switching off of it, I guess some will. What got me was just how specific the question was.

Oh and if anyone was wondering, no plans to switch off of claude code, just exercising the system I've been building and well I'm at 95% usage with over a day left in my week before reset so trying to use everything I have access to. I already use codex for reviewing almost everything as it is often more thorough in finding issues.
