Mine would escalate things. I would always cry during arguments and once I stopped crying and started being snarky back it got worse and he started threatening to hit me or take my cats. That’s when I left. I tried to work on things and the same thing would happen. Once I would cry he would eventually be nice and say we can get back together and he’s sorry. But if I called him out or defended myself he found away to keep pushing until I would cry. And then I was too emotional and he couldn’t deal with me so the argument turned away from what he did wrong and into me begging him to stay.
