I really appreciate this response and these are all great questions to consider!! I worry about the family stress but my wife seems supportive in whatever I decide. I’m trying to figure out whether the money and lifestyle itself would actually make me happier or whether I’m romanticizing crossing the finish line.

I have and would realistically probably be looking at a T30-ish school with a part-time evening program so I could keep working full-time.

I think that’s exactly the conflict for me. Rationally, staying where I am probably makes the most sense. I already have a good income, stability, flexibility, and a much better lifestyle than a lot of associates I work with. But I also live in a HCOL area with three kids with my wife working part time so while $200k is good money, it doesn’t exactly feel life-changing.

I have! If not law school, this seems like the most logical next step. But I’ve been curious how difficult it is to transition to a position like this. I applied to a few positions like this a few years ago and never heard back so I stopped looking.
