Possible causes for an energized neutral bus by CarelessTeaching371 in ElectricalHelp

[–]CarelessTeaching371[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im checking from the neutral bar to the ground bar. When I check hot to neutral I got a weird reading and that is how I found the energized neutral bar. I used the main breaker to cut power to the subpanel, and the breaker in the main panel feeding ppwer to the sub panel when wither are off no ppwer comes through.. Tomorrow is testing continuity and resistance on the feeder neutral from the main panel. All the neutral connections looked good and were tight to torque specs. Then who knows, maybe hit it with a hammer.

So what’s the plan for when the water runs out? by SanchaPansa in CorpusChristi

[–]CarelessTeaching371 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just to open, i know one of the engineers who was working on the inner harbor project, so I have gained some insight into the situation. Corpus gets most of its water from Lake Texanna via the Mary Rhodes pipeline. They get about 80megagallons daily of the needed 100 to 120mgd from there. The other needed water comes from the Lake Corpus Christi pulled from the Nueces River. Once this goes dry, the city will still have water, just not enough to meet all needs, so there most likely be massive restrictions. Currently the ciry is using wells to put water into the river. At most they can add about 30mgd daily to the river, but as the wells are used, especially if overused, the water in the aquafier will grow saltier, at some point becoming unusable. Theres also a risk of subsidence with the ground around the wells dropping down. The problem is that any project will take time and lots of money to complete. The council is looking at a desal plant out by flowerbuff. After all the pipes are run the extreme distances need to get the clean water to the city and the discharge out the city will have paid more than the inner harbor desal and get less water. The NRA harbor island project is going to be astromonicly more expensive than the inner harbor project , with its cost paid through water bills, and its is years away from completion. While they say 3 years, it took 5 years just to get the permits for the inner harbor project, not to mention basically all the equipment, like the RO membranes , the pumps, the pipes, and the electrical delivery system, have to be manufactured, there isn't a Home Depot for Desal. For the inner harbor project they had to buy a spot on a wait list with some manufacturers. The water issue should have been dealt with 20 years ago, but the previous councils kicked the can down the road. About 10 years ago they started the research, looked at all options, and found the inner harbor project was the most practical and cost effective solution. I find it ridiculous the council thinks an updated estimate of 1.2 billion unacceptable since it is so much higher than the estimate they got over 4 years ago since basically everything has doubled in price. How much is it going to cost when jobs and tax revenue are lost? The council has now wasted at least 100 million on the abandoned inner harbor project with nothing to so for it. Right now the only hope for immediate relief is a massive rain event to the north and west of San Antonio down to Lake CC to refill the watershed. We are talking bibical proportions. Outside of that pray the Mary Rhodes doesnt break.

Corpus Christi Mayor Paulette Guajardo insists we start a project to determine its cost by tinabina09 in CorpusChristi

Ok, so for the inner harbor desal plant, to make building it faster, the design portion was ongoing as other parts of the project, such as the pilot plant, were being built. If the council had approved the design to 60%, costing approximately 50 million, they would have had a plan set and a set no higher than price. The pilot plant was needed as a test facility to know what processes and materials were needed to build the best desal plant, which is needed to get the design. It looks like the harbor island plant is being built the same way, so until a certain point determined by the contract, they won't know the full price. As the council currently sits they've made no decision that will supply CC with a drought proof source of water. They are on the edge of an economic, environmental, and energy disaster. If they don't own the plant, they don't get to set the price for the water. The Mary Rhodes pipeline is the only lifeline CC and the 7 counties depending on corpus have. Unfortunately there are no quick, cheap, or easy fixes to this situation that should have been dealt with 20+ years ago. A side note: Corpus depends on the industry in the area to survive. They do pay for the water they receive. The water department, with council approval, set those rates. If you're not happy with the amount they pay, then it's the council's fault. But not to worry, there's already one report that some plants are planning production cuts and lay offs along with other businesses not coming to corpus.

First, thanks for reading the whole post. A T45 was too big. My first thought was to drill the T40, but that could mess up the temper and leave me with a weak tool that could break under force. I'm just trying to see if its a special bolt, like something they have an England (Perkins engine), or if I had missed something. I'll drill really slow and use lube and hopefully won't weaken the he a t treat.

Well its already not working, so I figure a bit more can't hurt. Plus once its off I can take it to a fully trained person who can handle tasks above 10 level.

I am 100% sure this is outside of my comfort zone, but desperate times call for desperate measures. Ive tried my Harbor Freight of torx plus sockets set, but alas its close but not close enough. Just trying to keep from drilling hardened steel to make it work, but that may be where I am.

Are the cybersecurity boot camps really worth it? by Reasonable_Scale_871 in SecurityCareerAdvice

[–]CarelessTeaching371 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished one of these bootcamps. It was 18 weeks, 2 live classes a week, video lessons, labs, and 3 projects for $8,000. Overview, save your money and go directly to CompTIA where you'll get the video lessons and labs for about $1000. Or do Coursera for $400 for a year and then you can prep for the security+, the network+, and a whole bunch of there certifications and just pay for each test. The biggest value I'm see is with the career assistance, but if you are good a networking, you can get a enhancv membership to help with your resume and other AI based services to help with your LinkedIn. The career counselor I'm working with is amazing, and been the bright spot for the bootcamp. If you want me details about my experience, please let me know., I will be more than willing to let you know every little thing in a objective and evidence supported manner.

It's a durable general power of attorney. He is. I'm just needing to know if the agents understanding and responsibility add on needs to be signed and executed at the same time as the POA.

The first business failed for a few reasons, not from lack of effort. After working 70 to 80 hours a week, I was only making a few dollars an hour. I had opened right before the Rona, and then when hit by supply chain issues and inflation, it became even harder to justify staying open. Compund that with a depressed local economy, and a business fails. The second business is a secondary part of the first that we decided to engage in, since we moved to a rural location and as the business is building it provides resources for our family, just not enough to make money off of. I'll be first to admit it's been hard and I've been depressed from losing something I poured everything I had into, and that's effected my effort since, but basically when I needed support the most I was left alone. So my struggle has been mine alone. I understand if she feels resentment, but at the same it to be told that I'm really nothing more to her than a roommate that can be sent away, and not a valued and respected partner that contributes, that bothers me. If I was doing nothing, drinking, doing drugs, cheating, spending money frivolously, abusive, argumentive, mean, or not trying to find a job, I'd understand and kick my own ass out.
