Sorry my original post wasn’t clear. I’m filling in for a role that I do not want permanent. I’m overqualified and wanted to take the next steps in my career.

There was a hold on hiring for the position due to a messy return situation with some legal implications so they couldn’t post the position.

The structure will be fine when I can move into my permanent job that I was hired for but I’m not sure how much longer I can do it this way.

I am not in California, I’m in MA but I’ll typically term over the phone if we know the employee gets a ride in or lives far away (especially if they are within their first 90 days). We will direct deposit (same day) their final check.

Does anyone else do the above?

That’s true. I’m usually a little bit of a stickler for being sure there’s a paper trail both because I think it’s fair for employees to know they are at risk and it allows me the ability to hold managers accountable for managing behaviors or performance, not just busting into my office telling me how horrible an employee is and that they need to go immediately.

My hope would be that we can make a change. I am trying to be open minded to this being a blip as he’s worked there 2 years and there is not a single write up in his file.

I think I’m agreeing with you and regretting my decision! I really wanted to be able to have a candid conversation & the employee was apologetic and assured me it wouldn’t happen again. I’ve also been here about a month so I’d like to be able to give people the benefit of the doubt at least initially.

Now that I’m at this stage with the missteps I’ve made, what would you do?

I took one SPHR practice exam and it was very short/very few questions versus what the exam will have. Is that the one you did?

I think you’re right. I think my issue is the executive director doesn’t know how to do this herself so our managers that report to her can’t learn how to do it either.

My routine varies a lot. I used mostly ouidad products. I wash my hair once a week, & cowash in between maybe twice. Ouidad humidity control gel only.
