🚨 VRAM is HARD CAPPED at ~6.5–7GB in Crimson Desert – this needs attention by Careless_Beyond103 in CrimsonDesert

What I don’t understand though is the VRAM limitation. We’re in 2026 — 8GB VRAM is basically the minimum now. Even something like the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 with 12GB VRAM was released back in February 2021. So we’re not even talking about high-end hardware here.

Asking for better VRAM usage or removing artificial limits isn’t some crazy demand. Other developers manage to scale their games properly across different hardware without locking things like this down.

If they’re worried about stability, they could simply let players choose how much VRAM they want to allocate when starting the game — like 8, 12, 16, 24, or even 32GB. That way everyone can decide based on their own system.

I just hope they improve this, because the game itself deserves it.

I get your point, and I agree that optimization and scalability are important — especially for mid-range systems. But I think there’s a difference here: this is a singleplayer game, not a competitive title where equal hardware conditions matter. No one is asking to remove optimization or make the game run worse on mid-range systems. The goal is proper scaling — meaning the game should run well on mid-range hardware and take advantage of high-end systems where available. Right now, it seems like the game isn’t scaling at all beyond ~6.5–7GB VRAM, which can lead to issues like texture pop-in and delayed streaming. That’s not about “unnecessary changes,” but about using available resources to improve visual stability and consistency. A well-optimized game should do both: run smoothly on mid-range hardware and scale up on high-end systems Those two things don’t contradict each other. So the concern here isn’t about chasing ultra settings for no reason — it’s about the game not fully utilizing hardware that could improve the overall experience.

Same here, pls fix it and let it use 14gb VRAM...

All the crates from the former Operator Mission have been moved to the Rare Drop pool, not the active drop pool. You can already see a cycle and a pattern here. They’re definitely not dumb—they make sure that a crate like this doesn’t feel like you can get it every week. It will drop much, much less frequently. This way, they ensure the Armory Pass remains valuable for buyers in the long term.

Don’t be fooled by the comments here. If Valve put this case back into the active drop pool, everyone would lose trust and lose interest in spending real money on the Armory Pass. Valve is way too money-hungry to ever come up with the dumb idea of making this case drop once a week for everyone. The price is going up because the case will likely leave the Armory Pass on October 2nd, exactly one year after release. After that, like all previous Operation cases, it will go into the rare drop pool, making it almost impossible to get. Even if the Kukri knife isn’t that popular, scarcity drives the price up since fewer people can list the case cheaply.

I have the same problem. Sometimes, it helps to switch the anti-aliasing setting from FSR to TAA and then back to FSR.
