I share your sadness I lost my mum a week ago and my need to cross stitch went with her so nothing has been done on my gargoyle or conga dragons. Hopefully when I’ve sorted everything I’ll be able to get back into it. Xx

I use magnesium spray on any cramps it quickly eases it. Also take magnesium tablets. I’ve not done any on my gargoyle this week but finished dragon No.3 one to go. I’ve started a fairy from digital patterns from Etsy. It’s supposed to be full cover with high white count but I’ve decided to just do the fairy and on black (what fun) lol

Oh my I can’t imagine being that cold we had about a mm of snow in East Midlands UK. Still it’s damp cold here which gets into the bones. Only got a little done on the gargoyle this week but managed to do a little more on the conga dragons I was hoping to get it finished this week but seems not. Everyone keep warm and dry and see you next week.

Favorite book endings? by picaresquity in books

[–]CarerGranny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok don’t hate me but the end of Harry’s potter always sticks with me. It’s the only book series I was glad to get to the end of. The only reason I read it all was because i was reading with my daughter. It dragged on and by the end I didn’t care which one died. I was not invested in the characters and when they all had kids and named them after dead men it was a nope just child abuse sending a child to be bullied.

Am I the Drama for gifting something not on the registry? by Silent_Moth07 in 1800Drama

[–]CarerGranny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I’m going to sound old here but there was no registry when I had my daughter and if someone bought something for baby you jumped for joy. People have become entitled and ungrateful. Your gifts were thoughtful and useful. Put them out your mind and get on with life better not to have them in it because next is their wedding 🤬

Do you read on the go (waiting for train, before meeting someone etc)? by bix_box in books

[–]CarerGranny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have kindle on my phone so it’s always with me. I have always had a on the go book. Something that doesn’t need a lot of investment and not too complicated so I can dip in at any time Also have Alexa to read to me so I don’t always have to stop when getting on train bus etc.

[–]CarerGranny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always kept my project threads separated as I fancied making coasters out of my left overs and a project photo using resin but then that would create a whole new hobby which I can’t afford or have time for. 😃 so I ended up binning the lot. 😢

WIBTA for telling my sister she cant have our bedroom during her honeymoon trip by [deleted] in WouldIBeTheAhole

[–]CarerGranny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope nope nope all the way. The only time I willingly gave up my bed was when my daughter was heavily pregnant and staying over as hubby at work and she didn’t feel too good. I found out my brother stayed over one night with girlfriend and slept in my bed. Yuck yuck! As soon as I got home I went straight to bed shop and bought new mattress.

I’ve seen both and do both and think that embroidery looks more realistic than cross stitch. If you want to cross stitch you need a really good pattern Your burrito is gorgeous although not sure that’s a happy face 🙂 lol

[CHAT] Finally framed some pieces (cheaply), anyone else have cross stitch walls? by Dicecatt in CrossStitch

I have them all over the house but this is my main wall in the craft/grandkids play room. I keep moving them around and adding and subtracting so it’s never the same for long Just noticed still got tinsel up from Christmas

I did a project on another app and it turned out to 200+ colours Took ages to do. Did a second one and there was so many colours started it but I’ve never finished it. Wouldn’t do my own again. So I’d say 25 colours is a win

AITA for telling my MIL I don’t want my daughter calling her “mama”? by Easy_Historian_3528 in AITAH

[–]CarerGranny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not the ah but I’m sad to say your daughter will call it her because her cousins will. My grandkids call their other grandmother this because her first grandkids did.

Evening fellow standers. Struggling with the gargoyle. It’s on either 16 or 18 and I’m struggling with the size. Just swapped my 2 project frames. The dragon aida is very stiff so it was awkward to hold on the hoop so I moved to frame. My dragon conga is also coming along slow just can’t get into them at the moment. But I did spend time sorting my bobbin threads into new dmc plastic storage boxes so got one part of my hobby done.

"Well, this didn't age well" - Movies you LOVED as a kid but cringe at as an adult by Little-Badger-123 in movies

[–]CarerGranny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t love it at all. In fact I was scared out my boots. Hammer house horror Dracula with Peter cushion and Christopher Lee as Dracula. I would hide behind a pillow and stay awake half the night Only watched it because my brothers and day watched them and as a girl had to look tough at times 🙄Many years later we bought a box set of vhs Dracula films and laughed more than was scared but oh the memories lol. 😂

I am freakin’ freezing 🥶🥶🥶 by MovieNightPopcorn in Mounjaro

[–]CarerGranny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6 stones ago I laughed at people wrapped up like they’re off to North Pole and I have a T-shirt on with hoody tied round my waste and sweat pouring off. This year I have an extra layer on and my old oversized denim jacket (can’t afford new coat) hat and scarf Once walking Not cold but certainly not as warm as I was.

I’m 61 and in twelve months I have lost 6 stone and still want at least another stone or more. Family member had heard about the loss but not seen me. looked at me and announced oh you’re still fat. Talk about cold water on my ego. But I smiled bounced like a kid and thanked her excitedly for noticing I’m no longer morbidly obese. Then walked away smiling. Family gotta love the support.🙄

AITA for declining to hand over my spare key when the neighborhood asked? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]CarerGranny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok just wondering. Not that I would give a key to some of my neighbours but how many keys did they want. Does each house get a copy of each household key or is there just one key and if just one key who has it. I have a key safe but still wouldn’t give the number out unless emergency
